People are overly optimistic about the accuracy of their retrieved memories, probably because most errors have little practical consequence and go unnoticed. Given the confidence in their own memory accuracy, people have too much faith in the accuracy of eyewitnesses. Memory has a multitude of quirks and inaccuracies that creep into its everyday operation.
The current publication pace of a new comic roughly every other day is working great for me. In about a week, I’ll be presenting my 700th comic. Thank you for your encouragement and wonderful comments.

We live in an age disturbed, confused, bewildered, afraid of its own forces, in search not merely of its road but even of its direction. There are many voices of counsel, but few voices of vision; there is much excitement and feverish activity, but little concert of thoughtful purpose… It is our duty to find ourselves.

The risk of collisional cascading is called Kessler’s Syndrome. When U.S. and Russian satellites collided in space this week, more than 600 bits of debris joined 18,000 other objects orbiting our planet. These artifacts, including rockets, satellites, bolts, screws, pieces of titanium and paint flecks, travel faster a bullet. They pose a danger to other space vehicles, including the International Space Station. Kessler’s Syndrome describes a situation where each collision causes more debris which causes more collisions, until it is unsafe for anything to orbit the earth.

“I think that gay marriage should be between a man and a woman.”
Quotation from Arnold Schwarzenegger, Governor of California

“Is it a sin, is it a crime
Loving you dear like I do
If it’s a crime, then, I’m guilty
Guilty of loving you.”
Lyric by Billie Holiday, Guilty
