“Yelling and screaming, beating against the bars, running spoons along them, guards rushing in with clubs—all that is for the big house. A good jail is one of the quietest places in the world… Life in jail is in suspension.”
-Raymond Chandler

I got banned yesterday from the Witch’s Brew. Trinity said I was on a List. Everyone on the list automatically got banned. She said some people named on the list shouldn’t have been there; it was a mistake. I’m back in. I hugged her afterwards and everything is cool. Yay!

Trinity is a witch. I mean that in a good way. When the Witch’s Brew was still called The Wet Kitty, she hired me as a dancer/greeter. Trinity also runs her own broadcast station: RadioAkasha.com.
Diligently caring for yourself with frequent washings, including the underbody, can add two years to your life.
The one thing I asked was “Please don’t leave me hanging.”
She said, “Don’t give up on me, I’ll be back.”
She’s been gone 28 days…
“We are such stuff as dreams are made on
and our little life is rounded with a sleep…”

Ultimately, you have to take risks or you sabotage your own growth. You learn it’s possible to take a risk and survive. It gives you courage.
“Do you want me to tell you something really subversive? Love is everything it’s cracked up to be. That’s why people are so cynical about it… It really is worth fighting for, being brave for, risking everything for. And the trouble is, if you don’t risk anything, you risk even more.”
-from Erica Jong, on How to Save Your Own Life
A freak but moist flower
tangles my lungs, knits into my heart,
crawls up my throat
and sucks like octopi on my tongue.

Dating rule #2 is think with your head as well as your heart. When in doubt, go with your heart (but never abandon the head completely).
I was attracted to this girl. She said she was attracted to me too. I was wary, however, because she seemed to be a serial dater. Over time, we talked. I began to trust her. She promised (twice!) not to share a confidence, but no sooner had I told her a secret than she told it to someone else. I was embarrassed and felt very foolish.
Dating rule #1 should be not to date people with problems greater than your own.
One night at the Wet Kitty, I met a sexy Dutch girl. We talked about places we knew in Amsterdam and Den Haag. She promised to send me a cooking recipe. She finally asked me to dance. She told me privately she was attracted to pain. Her fantasy was to be beaten with a board. She scared me.
His issue was not that I was with somebody else, per se. What bothered him is that I was with another woman.
I want to feel special, needed, wanted and romanced.
Hiding in the shadows of a Capulet garden, Romeo wants to catch a glimpse of Juliet, who has his heart’s attention. Juliet appears on a balcony. Do you know what Romeo says?
“But soft! what light through yonder window breaks? It is the east, and Juliet is the sun!… Two of the fairest stars in all the heaven, having some business, do entreat her eyes to twinkle in their spheres till they return.”
The point is: Pay Attention.
