For the next couple of weeks, I am re-releasing some old comics from a few years ago at the rate of one-a-day until July 1st.
1. Kansas. In 2008, I went to Kansas to visit my husband’s family.
2. The Sunflower State. I didn’t know what to expect. It was everything I had expected and more– including a tornado! Stay tuned.
3. What’s in Kansas? Kansas was a complete unknown to me.
4. Tornado Alley. I knew Kansas was famous for tornados, I just didn’t really expect to be in one.

fantastic shot
excellent
i love your pics !
we had tornado watches on Thursday, here in northern Alberta…. kansas doesn’t get all of the good stuff ;0)
I’ve been in a few tornadoes while living in New Mexico and Texas — but I only realized I was in a tornado once. For the one I realized — I was living in DeSoto TX (suburb of Dallas) and it was really stormy. I decided to go out on the front porch to look at the storm and I couldn’t even get the door open because of the pressure difference between inside and outside. Then the big living room window shattered, and that was what let me know it was a tornado — ran quickly to the basement bathroom to ride it out. But… the worst tornado I was in was when I was going to college in Las Cruces, NM and living in a trailer near the town of Organ. I was working nights while going to college, and was asleep at 9pm when the tornado hit. It woke me up with the noise, but only partially and I fell back asleep. When I left for work at 10:30pm I saw a couple of miles of devastation around my trailer but for whatever reason my trailer was spared. Go figure.
I’m so glad you had your friend Toto with you when you went.
I’ll be delighted to see which ones you’ve chosen for us to see again.
