I’m going to concentrate only on positive influences. Starting tomorrow. I’m going to burn sage and eat chocolate.
People are just fed up with the Obama administration – that ‘hope and change’ thing, said retail manager Nadine Leder in Milwaukee, Wisconson.
Quotation from Republicans poised for big gains by Andy Smith, Reuters.
(Yes, people are fed up with that “hope” thing. It’s horribly tiring.)
Participants who tested positive for depression consumed an average of 8.4 servings of chocolate per month.
Quotation from Depression and Chocolate: Self-Medication or Perpetuation? by Charles Bankhead
(Only 8.4 servings per month? That surely must be a misprint.)

8.4 servings a month? Definitely a misprint. I can do 8.4 servings of chocolate in about 3 days, and with my eyes closed.
You can never go wrong with chocolate. That’s my motto anyway.
Still sending positive waves to you
I recommend M&Ms.
Love all the weirdness going on in the top photo, it works well with the comic. Slightly disorienting for sure. The idea of needing a prescription for sage is rather humorous. I wonder if it will be legalized next after marijuana (if California legalizes that)?
Let me explain the true definition of chocolate: MINE!
lol did the sage bill pass down there tonight? lol you’re so funny, i totally agree on the chocolate front when i didn’t eat chocolate coz it would make me fat, i was totally a depressive person, now i eat chocolate whenever i feel like it and i haven’t gained weight in 5 years and i’m happy lol coincidence? i THINK NOT
The new year just began… It’s the best time to have a lot of hopes for what is coming ! I’m sure it will bring you good things and happiness !
LOL at Nova. Almost every time I’m out shopping, I end up with pure chocolate in one form or another in my cart, Sera. You should see the look on Astrid’s face when she comes home from work. It’s worth every penny I spend!
I simply MUST have chocolate every day
I looooove chocolate only 8.4 servings!!! I really like the photo of the buskers too. If it wasn’t for the taxi this could be London, When I worked in London I always kept some loose change in my pockets, the buskers brightened my journey. I laugh at the people trying to ignore them, like the guy on the right.
Interesting study of the link between chocolate and depression!! Love the image..and all of its oddities!!!
I have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t like chocolate or has become depressed after eating it. However the more depressed are more likely to seek solace in chocolate but there is no evidence chocolate either causes depression or more of it makes you more depressed.
As long as it’s mainly cocoa you are eating and it’s not stuffed full of sugar it’s actually very healthy but still contains a lot of calories. Of course Obama was expected to deliver some really nice chocolate but I am afraid the expectations were all far too high.
But can I suggest for a very postive result the chocolate your eat is70- 85 % cocoa and that the weekly amount is limited to roughly 7 ounces or about an ounce of dark chocolate every day.
Best wishes
Chocolate and sex are well known endorphine/seratonin enhancers. Another good one is watching George Carlin videos. I think there’s a good reason they always have US elections near Halloween.
Sage smells. It will just ruin the taste of the chocolate.
Right now I am heaving breakfast and a Dutch thing is having chocolate sprinkles on bread…… http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sprinkles
??? I can tell you that I am like a kid in the candy store.
We call it ‘hagelslag’.
I do that once a month, I had three slices of bread with them, so that is a good head start for the day, BTW I take 7 slices of bread with me for lunch.
You read what Ginnie wrote, I just love the black chocolate and does it make me happy
Last night I came home and saw the outcome of the elections…..why do people don’t give Obama a change, why are some so stubborn.
But that is MY humble opinion.
Great post again…I might try the sage as well… grin…
This is the first time, I visite your very nice site and I hope it’s not the last time!
Very nice and realy surprise!
NANNE from FRIESLAND
Well, a little dark chocolate is supposed to be good for you now and then. I like it on cold winter nights with hot chocolate and Baileys’!
)
Thank You for visiting my site!
Merci Beaucoup.
Have a nice weekend.

yey for the chocolates!
8.4 servings is ludicrous. That won’t get me through a week. Dark chocolate is the best thing man ever invented. Maybe if Obama ate enough it would cure his communist/socialism? Just a thought
I just now came back and noticed that top photo…Hilarious!
)
for many years, chocolate gave me monster migraines, of the 3 days in bed sort. not worth the grief….. but now that i’m old, i can manage it in small doses, well below the ‘recommended’ dosage. lovely rich creamy delicious stuff….. melt.
i hadn’t noticed that you were particularly negative…..? cheer up; eat chocolate.
Positive influences? Well, then. You just need to come to Kansas City and hang with meeeee! =)
Scorpio deals with this stuff somewhat. Hi Sera – decided to wake up and start posting again. Without darkness or dark chocolate – there is no perception of light. Without the blues, no happiness.
I can SO relate! Funny you mentioned chocolate – I made some cocoa/orange soap this evening. (I figure the orange goes with my troll hair)
PPP.S Super fine title image!
Ridiculously low amount of chocolate. Chocolate is the whole reason doG created sugar.
And what’s a busker?
The funny thing is if you read the label on a chocolate bar it says it is 2.5 servings. Haha, I just put that one back and go for the bigger size.
I agree, 8.4 servings sounds like a misprint. Now, if it was 8.4 servings per dose … that I could understand.
