I’m embarrassed that it has been too long between Encore Seraphine updates. I spent a few days at Lake Tahoe on holiday and then I’ve been learning how to use an HTML Editor for an advanced markup/css class I’m taking. I haven’t been slacking off, honestly!
I voted this weekend. In California, we’re allowed to do ‘absentee’ balloting, which essentially means I can vote by mail. I voted against the initiative to legalize marijuana in California because anyone who wants to partake can already get a doctor’s prescription to legally do so. Did I do the right thing? The elections are November 2nd.
We’re kind of like anti-Wal-Mart and anti-McDonald’s. So for them to try to sneak in and turn cannabis into a corporation, that’s disgusting.
Quotation from Dragonfly de la Luz, supporting Stoners Against Prop 19

i hate pot and the war on pot and the war for pot i’m sick of pot lol and i don’t even DO drugs… sure you did the right thing, if they legalize it, then the govt gets all the profits instead of the private ‘farmer’ lol…. i miss you too, but i’m in a foul mood coz i have to give up Audrey coz of allergies, so i’m just going to go and cry…
it’s just that i’ve fallen deeply in love with her and felt she had completed our little family… but it wasn’t the regular itchy eyes allergy, it was a terrible pain/congestion in my chest that hurt so much, so i would HAVE to take the allergy medication and it makes me sleep 24/7, and it’s a baaad kind of sleep, feeling sick having nightmares kind of sleep, caffeine pills help for a little while, but not long, i’m sad and i can tell that audrey can tell…
In my opinion you have acted correctly and you’re right. Great image with excellent composition, i like the mountains in the background. Beautiful photograph!
Dragonfly de la Luz is a great name
Bulls-Eye!
Good You voted against McPot !!!!
<3
“You can’t argue with illogic.” Absolutely true.
Doesn’t matter sweetie, legal, illegal, it’s still going to be around…nothing to worry about, you’re missed girl!
Good for you, maybe one of these days the feds will agree with the states and stop harassing the current “legal” owners…
Okay. But where do I get an Rx?
Just kidding!
Beautiful photo ! The light is divine !
can i come play on your beach? the sky is coming apart here and falling down in little white flakes. it’s horrible – everything for miles around is covered in little white bits of sky. i want my sky back. up there, where it belongs. and the idiot puppy loves it. he doesn’t know the sky is dying.
can i ask you HOW you take allergy medicine and STILL FUNCTION, because it’s knocking me out to sleep and not in a nice restful sleep kind of way either…. if there’s a secret you can tell me, i would appreciate it sister xoxoxoxoxox
You’re as welcome here as you are at home. In fact, if you want to drop by please bring a little of that warm beach scene with you – that’s if you have any left over after stopping by to see Gfid.
As a rebel teen (who didn’t even smoke) I found legalization was important. Now I just don’t care. There are so many issues in the world… marijuana is the last of my worries. I find it stupid to send someone to jail for personal consumption but even though it’s a common drug, it’s still drug. To each his own I guess…
Beautiful picture with the playground on the beach. I don’t live in Caliphonya but I would vote to legalize pot if I did. I haven’t smoked it for a long time but used to a lot. I don’t see the harm in legalizing it but do see the harm in the illegal trafficking that happens without it being legal. Just look at the Mexico border.
Although marijuana smoke, like tobacco smoke does contain irritants and carcinogens users don’t tend to inhale like smokers which reduces the risk of lung damage providing users don’t mix it with tobacco. But the idea of legalizing marijuana to restrict use to the tiny amounts deemed okay for personal use substitute’s one form of policing for another if it is to be effective. Trying to grow all the current varieties and strains available in one tiny plot would seem to be impractical and not necessarily reduce demand from users whose habits are so defined. Little wonder opposition comes from unlikely quarters.
The long term effects are highly debatable with claims of exgeraration and counter claims that prolonged use is injurious to mental health. On balance I am somewhat skeptical over any perceived benefits for legalization.
Best wishes
i tried a claritin knock off today and it’s working much better, so i guess Audrey can stay
i’m very happy
thanks for the answer, i don’t think we have zyrtec in canada!
The whole legalization of marijuana has created such an interesting debate. Who’d ever have thought that it might become a corporate enterprise??? Such interesting food for thought..as always.
i don’t get to vote but i’m seeing more and more of those proposition ads on tv and it’s annoying.. lol..
Not sure why, but the playground and beach have kind of a sad feel to them. As a Libertarian, I’m pro legalization. If people want to kill their own brain cells, who am I to stop them? I guess it will put a dent in the money making scheme that is the prison-industrial complex, but it will also reduce the profits of the Mexican drug lords substantially as well. Sure there will be corporate weed, just like there’s corporate coffee, but plenty of independent coffee houses still thrive. And for me, Starbucks was a gateway coffee house. After sampling their wares, I went looking for something better. Had they not popped up on campus, I might still be drinking my coffee from a cup with a gas station logo emblazoned on it.
Wow, what a stunning looking place, great image
just glad you’re back AND glad you voted. We Canadians would vote too, but we’d probably vote something socialist and then we’d have, like, a new revolution.
As somebody from Vancouver, pot capital of some of the western word (apparently) I have no problems with legalisation. But I like the stoner’s quote, so I might have voted no, if only for that reason.
Eh, who cares if its locally legalized, it will still be illegal federally. I used to care about this issue but i don’t anymore. The government has proven they are completely incompetent and corrupt so legalizing it under them is next to useless anyway.
Seraphine: A couple of weekends ago, I was arranging my collection of vinyl LP’s in a cabinet whenI came across a cool message on the back cover of a Stephen Stills & Manassas album jacket. It read: “Use the Power 18. Vote!” You and I both did that! Very cool!!!
)
Well, I’m not completely jaded or discouraged yet…we must keep on voting and keep on voicing OUR own preferences…that’s the important thing for each of us to do.
So, I’m going to fill out my mail-in ballot tomorrow, before it’s too late !!
Sooo important you vote, when you have the right, some do not and then moan at the results. A girl has to have an opinion
