I’ve decided to go back to school this summer. I’m taking classes Tuesday and Thursday nights, after work. There goes my hope for a carefree, timeless summer. *SIGH*
But to go to school on a summer morn,
O! it drives all joy away;
Under a cruel eye outworn,
The little ones spend the day
In sighing and dismay.
Poem by William Blake, The Schoolboy

oh my badness i HATE that show trailer park boys hahahaha, course if our trailer park wasn’t so durned expensive it might be interesting like the one on tv lololol… tho who needs that kind of interesting?
so what are you going to take in school? you must be excited, in that ‘bouquets of sharpened pencils’ kind of way
sharpening up those basic skills is a good thing… hope you have fun doing it… oh by the way, making money online isn’t impossible, i just started and so far i’ve made $1.54 hahahaha
Love is everything my sweet Sera, love your summer of intellect…
Good luck at school
If you are studying something you like, that interests you, unless the teacher is a bore, how can it be anything but enjoyable?
Beautiful portrait; and interesting cartoon. I had never heard the expression ‘shaving the brain’ before. I’m sure you’ll do great at school; I hope you enjoy it! I’m a full-time student myself; it can get frustrating sometimes to not be able to spend free time as I wish but to me is definitely worthwhile.
You never know when a new skill or refreshed knowledge will come in handy. As for me, I’ve begun reminding myself that it’s time I reacquaint with the French language – particularly as it’s spoken east of Quebec.
Good for you for taking the leap!! And – there will still be time for summer fun!!!
Yay, another “mature student” on board!
On the plus side, I found summer classes to be the most interesting, because they are a lot of working students attending.
oh, but think of all the people you can blog about now! what are you studying?
congrats! I think it’s cool.
<3 Blake. lovely pic too hun.
I second what Sarah said….. blog fodder my dear xx
I am toying with this idea myself … to get a MaEd. It is just so that this is horribly expensive. I don’t know yet if I want to take up a student loan for $23’000 just to be “ready” to beat the competition. The competition of what?
Anyway, heads up and kiss New Zealand bye bye…
Hehe, love this toon.
but,You can then say, i”ve learned something.!
that not everyone can
ok, i took something off my blog. maybe it’ll view differently for you now. lemme know! (and cool classes btw!)
Enjoy the opportunity, even if you are working too and a bit tired. It is fun to learn new things and sharpen your mind. I finished my Masters last year, and I have to admit. I miss it. I liked learning new stuff all the time.
o school can be exciting!! what are you going to study!! ???
surley you have space for carefree too:)))
i like the way you said it looked like a rambler, have you see those smartt cars? they are soooo cute, and very modern, but they look like litte death traps lol
awww thnx for the wee poem!! you are soooo inspirationally talented my dear…. all coffee is bitter to me now, as i can’t use milk and sugar coz of a natural diet i’m on, is it just me or do diets bite? lol
no, sunshine
awww what about baby carrots dipped in dill dip, cruncha cruncha cruncha!
as long as i have good salad dressing i’m ok with the ugly unmarried vegetables, and celery goes good with cheese
oh who am i kidding? lol
BRAVE…..that is all I can say and go for it girl, when I see Ginnie come from school 4 mornings a week, it is a joy….I know the thought of going back to school and study does not appeal to you, however it is worth it.
What are the subjects you are taking??
hahahaha, lettuce petition the Lord for chocolate broccoli…
it’s not that i mind a good salad, but when fruit and salad is allllllll i can eat, i want to see some sort of good result QUICKLY…. i’m on this diet to get rid of body pain, and it’s been over a week and i hurt just as much as ever, very discouraging!
My question, too, Seraphine…what will you be studying? And Astrid is right: I LOVE going to school because I’m getting so much out of it. I aced my second test on Monday, so that tells you I’m motivated to do well and to “get” it.
In the meantime, we still do what we want to do on weekends, so that helps in the fun department. Astrid works during the week when I’m at school, so it all makes sense. I love that you tell your story through your comics. You are so dang gifted, Woman!
thank you, you wee well wisher you
i prefer nectarines to peaches, coz peach fuzz feels like it’s CUTTING the inside of my mouth lol i know i’m a tad too sensitive…. yes, the fruit season is great!!! i picked a good time to start the caveman diet
Well presented and stylish, and I think your right on your comment on my shot, but maybe the time will come where water is the precious commodity rather than oil, who knows with the way we are treating our planet
Reason cannot always triumph over prior passions but rationalists of old such as Galileo poetically refuted passionate assertions of a notion of an unchanging celestial sphere.
No lower than the other stars it lies,
and does not move in ways around,
than all fixed stars-nor change in sign or size.
All of this is proved on purest reason’s ground:
It has no parallax for us on Earth
By reason of the sky’s enormous girth-
Best wishes for the summer school and may reason and passion both succeed.
Hmmmm. I wonder if waxing the brain would be better.
School is cool. Yay for you!
Sera: That is a great move!
U don’t need to many resons
Great image!
Reason is what separates us from the animals, but it also prevents us from the bliss of ignorance.
