We tried to find a good excuse to extend our mini-holiday in Santa Cruz. We could think of a thousand “lame” excuses: We forgot which day it was; We couldn’t drive home because it was a ‘Spare the Air’ day; We had to clean up a potato that exploded in the microwave. But unfortunately, we couldn’t think of a GOOD excuse to stay.

There are good excuses (the truth) and there are bad excuses (little white lies??). When certain desires and wishes trump the truth, one an always come up with a very good bad excuse. A flat tire would have worked – at least given you an extra day!

Such a clever set of pictures and conversational snippets. A problem many people have with excuses they follow through on is that they turn them into self-fulfilling prophesies. You have to be honest when you lie.

Sometimes there never a good excuse, but it doesnt seem to stop a lot of people who think a feeble excuse will work, such a cool cartoon gave me a chuckle, looks not the best of days weatherwise though

lovely eerie road here. that is some moody atmosphere!
I love this eerie and foggy highway that seems to never end. Like being caught in a vortex or a time passage that actually never really passes. Instead the road keeps coming as if in a loop.
I spent some time in Santa Cruz as a kid…it was pretty exciting for me at the time, but then I was also into watching a potato explode in a microwave
