What did you wish for? I can’t tell you, because then it won’t come true.
Wishes are the opposite of worries.
I hate asking myself “What’s the worse that can happen?” because I already know.
If I think about them, they might come true. And I’d have nobody to blame but myself.
Mea culpa.
Worry is a thin stream of fear trickling through the mind. If encouraged, it cuts a channel into which all other thoughts are drained.
Quotation from Arthur Somers Roche
Don’t be afraid of missing opportunities. Behind every failure is an opportunity somebody wishes they had missed.
Quotation from Lily Tomlin

So often I get stuck in the ‘what ifs’..and they’re always the ‘what if’s’ about the worst thing that might happen. I have to remind myself – what if not?? What if..it all turns out okay??
As always – love your illustrations!!!
How can anyone not worry these days?
“If wishes were fishes we’d all be throwing nets. If wishes were horses we’d all ride.”
~Doug Horton
Worry is my middle name. (Eliszbeth Worry Stewart.) My deranged thinking goes like this – if I can anticipate and worry about some possible future disaster, I can somehow prevent it from occurring. Thus far, my success rate has been very poor in this regard. Your way is (somewhat) better. Stick with it.
Love that Lily Tomlin quotation!
Here is a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don’t worry be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don’t worry, be happy……
(Bobby McFerrin)
Too many worried thoughts and you come down with an infection of depression. That is no good to anybody, in particular your own self.
Maybe if we fall all the way down our pit of worries we’ll discover there’s nothing to worry about.
Just the same for me . If I expect some good news and talk to my friends, that will never happen. If stay quite , it might happen.

If think of something bad , if think too much of possibility it can happen, it will happen

Fear is the opposite of love, don’t fall for the lie Cosmog
I have some real issues with worry and anxiety; I have all my life. I find that meditation helps a lot, but even more helpful is keeping busy with the things I enjoy. It is during those do-nothing times that the anxiety rushes in.
Great toon, image, and story for the subject.
Someone told me, “Make a wish, but no matter what you do, don’t think about elephants, because then it won’t come true.” : )
Try to keep making wishes, and don’t worry about the elephants. They aren’t thinking of you either.
If you are going to worry, worry about the unexpected. It’s never the things you think about that happen in my experience
I agree with Zee. But who am I to say anything? I’m the biggest worry queen.
haha. makes me giggle!! all this thinkin!!:)
I borrow trouble, big time.
i can’t help but worry…and it gets worse the older I get!
definitely!!! i would never tell anybody my worst fear, and i don’t even think about it unless forced by something, just like job said ‘what i feared most befell me’ don’t think about it and for sure don’t voice it coz you never know who or what is listening
Are you worrying or figuring it out?
You’re a wise Cosmic girl, use the magic
Well i just got told my job is moving to freakin Seattle. That’s a lovely way to start a day. Now i get to worry about one of those choices Tomlin was talking about. Move way the hell out there where there will be some opportunity for advancement into the places the ones who stay vacate or stay where i am and start the disaster that is the job hunt. I am so not looking forward to making that choice one way or the other. Time to update that resume, hurray!!!
I am a bad luck woman ,

ooooh you!! what a lovely comment for such a lousy photo of my beautiful niece, i like the insects have her face on a wanted poster lol just great, yes she’s sweeter than bee pollen!! i thought people weren’t liking that pic so there’s now 2 pics up for today lol
no no, you are correct, that is a blvd…. and you can’t fool people into thinking our hwy looks like THAT … perhaps i should change the wording, and the house that we are looking at buying is on the wrong side of the highway and going out of the driveway, like zoolander, can’t go left
You do have a way of hitting the human nail on the head…that which is common to our humanity. I love it, Seraphine, because you really have a gift! Seriously.
the street is not better than my niece lolol it’s just that the picture of my niece is badly out of focus, not in a good way either lol…. and yeah, my husband is going to have to go right, then left on some side street where he can turn around, then go in the direction he should have been able to turn in in the first place, pain in the arse city planners lol
I come from a long line of worriers, and there are plenty coming up in our next generation kids. The great thing is that we get that we are worriers, that makes it kind of funny, and when we worry, we remember that we are worriers, which helps us to let things go and get on with the living.
