I am sick. I’ve been in bed all weekend. Since we’re both sick, I don’t get any sympathy.
The sick grapes on the chair by the bed lie prone; at the window
The tassel of the blind swings gently, tapping the pane,
As a little wind comes in.
The room is the hollow rind of a fruit, a gourd
Scooped out and dry, where a spider,
Folded in its legs as in a bed,
Lies on the dust, watching where is nothing to see but twilight and walls.
Poem by D.H. Lawrence, Malade

Hope you feel better soon. Love the D H Lawrence poem xx
I’ve drunk too much wine yesterday, so today the donkey head is like a bass drum!
I hope you will recover all your health soon!
I’m sorry for the WE that you passed and I hope you feel better!
It is true that when we are sick we need the sympathy of our family … And where failure is not funny unless you draw a picture and put it on the blog!
Your timing was terribly off – one needs a certain amount of sympathy in order to speed up the recovery process.
So, here’s some from me – “Ah, you poor thing! Can I get you anything? Ginger ale, crackers, chicken noodle soup?”
Feel better soon…
I hope you feel better soon,.
well accept my dearest sympathy xxx and a cup of hot toddy….and hot rhum….I know how you feel, my cats haveno sympathy when I’m sick!
Awww. The double cough had me laughing..Everyone wants to be..cared for!
Nice top frame. A continuation of the winery pics?
As for sympathy, give me a cure every time

Bien à toi !
Hope You are getting over it keep warm.Wishing You Well
Ah yeah, some bed-in aren’t that fun… I hate when we are both sick it takes all the “fun” from it. Plus, we are always blaming each others on who caught the flu first.
Campbell’s Soup on its way! Feel better soooon!
Sometimes luck is not that great.
Wishing you feel better… and i agree it a bad place when both are sick…get well soon
lol reminds me of my husband and me… your comic made me laugh, but i’ve been sick for years so whatever sympathy i may have had has long since turned into anger and resentment… i remember my sister in law saying something mean about her aunt being sick, and i was horrified, i said ‘she’s SUFFERING’ and she just waved her hand and said ‘och she’s ALWAYS suffering’.. i said ‘don’t you see how hellish that is?’.. but somehow a cold deserves sympathy, but a chronic illness deserves contempt.. i can’t tell you how angry this concept used to make me… oh and btw coco does have a myspace page haha from when i ran a badpuppydog.com site http://www.myspace.com/badpuppydog/
i know right haha, you were actually quite spot on
i hope you are feeling better my dear, being sick is nooooo fun, oooh and i hate those body pain kind of flus and cold, coz when you already HAVE body pain, it’s like a whole new level of misery lol
haha, why don’t you and your hubby do that while you are sick in bed together, give each other tons of love bites, at least you will give others the impression it was sexy lol… and it’s not how you feel, it’s how.. you.. look
that’s tough. get well soon seraphine. it is the same for us nurses getting sick. the first thing people would say is that we know what to do with ourselves so get on with it.
Both sick at once? That’s not right but there’s always a lot to be thankful for if you take time to look for it. For example, I am sitting here thinking how nice it is that wrinkles don’t hurt.
Hope you both get well soon.
Sorry to hear you’ve been sick. Not fun to both be sick together..:-(
Hope you feel better soon!
I’d bring you both soup if we lived near each other. Sending you both healing hugs.
I don’t look for sympathy when i’m sick, just to get the hell away from everyone. I am one miserable bastard when i have a head cold. I drive MYSELF crazy with the noise of trying to keep free breathing passages so i try my best to keep a lot of distance.
Ahh poor thing.. hope you feel better soon. Cool picture too.
lolololol love the road rage poem!!! reminds me of my husband, driving down the road, white knuckled, brows crossed, flipping the bird at every one, swearing a blue streak….
thanks sister lol
Je ne suis plus malade!
The sun is not here but smile is back on the donkey face!
One does need a lot of pampering when sick, and if you cant get it from anyone you best pamper yourself Sera! Get well soon:)
I hope you’re well on the road to recovery.
Husband and wife sick together at the same time… Not fun.
Oh dear. Hope you get a chance to rest. I find resting with a hot water bottle on my chest helps. I think it works along the same lines as a hot plaster – stimulating blood flow to the chest (thus bringing in more white blood cells), raising the local temperature of the area (inhibiting the infections enzymes – i.e. slowing it down). I find it helps to keep a leg uncovered to avoid overheating (which wouldn’t be good).
Get better soon.
You have my sympathy (a week late). HOpe you’re not still sick.
