The house and the tree in the header photo remind me of an old married couple. When one finally goes, the other will die shortly after.
They were watching Animal Planet, one of their favorite shows, when a nurse’s aide checked on them.
“I’m going to die today,” Lolie told the aide, who asked her if she needed to go back to the hospital.
No, she just felt “different,” Lolie told her.
When the aide came back a short time later, Lolie wasn’t breathing. Moments later, they discovered James had also passed away.
Quotation from Wendy Victora, NWF Daily News “Couple together for 59 years; Die moments apart”

I think both mathematical equations are correct. Hmm that is so true, my dad died and then I think 5 or 6 or possibly 7 years later, my mom did too…Sad, but true !
That photo in the header is freakin’ awesome. I love it.
And you answer was technically correct.
I love the photo, the tree is amazing and the house is stronger then one things. Great comments as well.
I guess when your soulmate is gone, there may not be any more reason to live.
How romantic it is to be able to die together. Like in The Notebook.
I’d like to see it as moving on the the next plane together but perhaps that was your point.
Great photograph
Kinda sad, kinda romantic.
When my father died of PD, he was adamant that my Mother continue on by taking care of her health with workouts and nutrition. That was his wish for her out of love, recognizing she still had a lot of living to do–and she is living fully.
ha ha, depend son the marriage. In the beginning that’s how you feel it will be, but after a while, you start to wonder just how much time your mate’s really got left.
I don’t like technically correct answers – unless it is an exercise in thinking outside the box, but, then, being technically correct would mean your still within the box. So the answer is ‘pelicans’.
This is simply beautiful! I like how they hug each other! So protective! The picture and the thought as well!
I believe our friend posted a pic of two skeletons making love
It had same thoughts but presented in a funny way
Another possibility may be 3. Nice top shot. That’s my kind of shack
That photo is great and I think 1 could be the right answer as well.
Great picture
Lorraine: Nope. I still can’t make a comment. but i notice you’re getting more adventurous with your poetry. they used to be like whispers (albeit powerful whispers) and now they have some swagger and strut. and i like the fogged-over window. nice!
Life is a bitch… when the point of living dies with the life partner.
I was reaching for my calculator but then I saw the answer. lol.
Love the photo, quite moody.
I love that!
4 was the logical answer!
Regarding the “chalet”, I think this could be the right place for the donkey!
great shot, love the old tree
Beautiful photo – I love it. And I think the body often tells us things the mind doesn’t. I had a very strange feeling in my abdomen when I was 8 months pregnant with my second child – no pain just this feeling of tightening and inward movement (not the baby moving) I said to my then-husband – I’m going to give birth very soon. Three hours later my waters broke (no other warning sign or any pain until then) and in 45 minutes Robbie was born.
What a beautiful story of love…and a wonderful metaphor. Wonderful mood you’ve captured/created.
Wow, now that’s what I call a tree house. Great photo, love the natural setting and the greens.
…that was a trick question!
Yup…
Now this image is fantastic! That is what I call nature claiming what rightfully belongs to here. Eaten alive, so poetic
Good see.perfect job
wow you can see my swagger, well I’m just thrilled darlin’ girl…stupid BLOG
try one of my other blog, I have one called: Let’s Hang, it’s cool and I don’t stay anything except let’s hang!
Lol, i love it when something like that happens. That picture is great. The tree seems to be weary. Like it knew if it grew that direction it could one day rest on something to support it.
hey sister, haven’t seen you for a while, was my linkypoo not working? i gave you the direct url… i once knew a couple like that, in my childhood, the MacDonalds, Mr. MacDonald died, and 2 days later Mrs. MacDonald dropped dead while doing dishes… I actually always think back on that as a great love story rather than sad, you know? they were soooo old, thru my whole childhood, but so happy
loved visiting them!
well i used a redirect so my url wouldn’t have to change, but it’s not migrating very fast, i don’t know why it’s taking so long! so sorry about that darling
that was suh-weet!!!! did you write that all by your talented self? you always amaze me, and i notice that you leave awesome comments on everybody’s blogs…. i don’t know if that would be hard work or a really good time!! hehe
That is so cute picture, Sara, and it looks like , as you said, as an old couple living together 100 years
Many times I heard the same story : one goes, the other goes too in a few days, months .. Poor birds
What a fantastic old tree. Unbelievable beauty.
The house and the tree look super cool. A solid couple, I’d say, although the male branch lies on the female house a bit too much.
I like the image today! Great shot and interesting points – After 59 years I don’t think you would want to go much more alone!
old married couple .. it’s a magic and so true title for your picture
Bien à toi !
My mom had Alzheimer’s when Dad died in 1975. She died 2 years later 30 minutes before Easter Sunday. My dad had been buried the day before Easter. Tell me these brains don’t compute!
today i’ll stay on the image, i just love it, terrific green and tree by the lil’house !
that is a wonderful photo. i think swans also die that way. hmmm… i don’t know. i haven’t tried it yet.
A grandson was asked by his kindly grandfather how old he was. I’m 6 he replied but how old are you. Put another 6 in front of your 6 and that’s my age he replied. You must be 12 then said the grandchild.
But 2 people married for nearly 60 years at a party don’t need to consult their watches to determine the right time to go home since a nod will do!
Best wishes
An awesome image to go with the wonderful story Sera!
We just did a story on a couple married 81 years. EIGHTY-ONE YEARS! http://tinyurl.com/yblyagl
