Everything comes to she who waits.
But that begs the obvious question: Do I really want to have Everything?
Don’t underestimate the value of Doing Nothing, of just going along, listening to all the things you can’t hear, and not bothering.
Quotation from A.A. Milne, Pooh’s Little Instruction Book

As the old saying goes: A rolling stone gathers no moss.. or dust bunnies.
My mother has a saying that always get’s my hackles up, “What will be, will be”…..arrgghhhh! I sooo hate that. I believe that in life nothing comes to you without at least a little effort on your part, and personally when I achieve something thanks to making an effort, it tastes all the more sweet and worthwhile.
Life is short, and idleness a disease of the mind. The minute my creative juices dry up and I lie around in a pool of my own fallen aspirations and self pity, you make take me out to the nearest pasture and shoot me, Sera. Just out of curiosity, in the photograph, are those birds trained builders, or just stealing the metalwork?
Are birds on the beams crows?
To do nothing is not easy, because the others thinking that they do a lot always complicate your “nothing”!
Regarding crows, here we have some too waiting in the fields closed from roads!
Note to Lorraine:
I’ve been trying to comment on your wonderful blog, but for some reason I can’t. I see the comment box, but i can’t present my curser inside of it. I’m sure it is the fault of my computer, because i see others leaving comments. I read your blog regularly, but am so sorry I can’t comment.
I want everything…
and a litllebit more
Bien à toi !
Very original idea, new way to work or do something
Is so hard to wait! Great image!
I like the ‘factory’ photo…and I do so love your off beat subjects and sense of humor and way of raising issues. Never thought I would learn to like “comics” so much!
Thanks. Sera.
Everything comes to she who waits …
The question of desire, the essence of being human …
My grandmother said “it takes a long time desire to have her!
hmmm I think i’m going to take up readin pooh
The quote assumes an infinite amount of concious time is available for waiting. I see no evidence to back that up. Though it is a slim possibility I suppose I wouldn’t act (or rather not act {I see I have talked myself into a paradox here}) on it
i’m with A.A. Milne!! tho listening to all the things i can’t hear has definitely got me in a boat load of trouble ; the whispers of my bones, the screams of my flesh… body talk *grin* and btw HOW do you know my dog sooooo well lolol your comment was so right on it makes me wonder if you are peering in my window lol
I love solitude. Leg tats. Funky sneakers. But Winnie the Pooh? Not so much.
haha!!:) I am sure everyone loves winnie the pooh!! I like your top photo too
Sometimes getting off ones butt can be quite an undertaking. I am all for waiting
Great cartoon and of course your photo is as cool as always.
cheers to you!
Thanks to Barb for letting me know you couldn’t visit….it’s open to everyone so, it shouldn’t do that, but that has happened to me as well, so I know the problem is with blogger….When you get to my site: Try to ‘refresh’ the page (that little orange turn right sign lol it should work
Great comic as always…. I will have to look for the Pooh book, love the quote!
Another note to Lorraine:
I’ve tried refresh and even that doesn’t work. Waaa.
Very beatiful your blog!!Great shot.
The structure in your top image looks like a very good place to explore and capture some really great pics.
Sometimes waiting is too difficult. In those cases, doing something is much better.
LOOK! Look what I found, Sera! Not only are there DOTS! But they’re COLORFUL. And they taste like sugar, but alas, they’re not ice cream. =(
Hehe wisdom from a Pooh book. Love it. I long ago found the joy in just stopping. Do nothing and observe. It is a wonderful feeling.
I like to do nothing…
I love Winnie the Pooh. He’s the smartest little bear I know. As for wanting everything? Even if you get everything, it still won’t be enough.
Everything is all right. (even in the broader sense…)
It is just a pain in the ass to accept it all.
Tomorrow diddly, stuff.
Thursday playing music on new compositions with my brother/
Friday, San Juan – Puerto Rico.
I define myself insane from now on.
But I still function enough to give.
Had great classes with kids, for three days in a row, doing geometry, math and clay-modeling. What a combo!
Don’t tell me again that I deserve to fly, my complexion might change to ruby-read.
I do care about you actually, so in that spirit: take Janis Joplin’s advice: “Take it while you can, babe…” – that’s everything!
I’ll be back Zee (lukas)
That, my dear, is day I am waiting for when I will sit on my butt and do nothing. But like someone said up there… it become pain in the ass if you sit on your butt for very long.
yes, soon all ‘protrustions’ will be burnt off from microwaves in the air and we will evolve to only have one sex hehe you likey monkeys?
i want to have everything… if it fits on my paws and doesn’t hurt my whiskers.
silly old bear!
The power of doing nothing, being happy wherever you are.
The best investment decisions are oft likely to be the decisions not to invest.but to wait !
But if you cant wait dont rush in unles your happy to take the risk and understand what risk your taking.
.
Best wishes
Ohhhhh. Winnie the Pooh. It doesn’t get much better than that, Sera!!!!
it’s so sweet that you care lol no worries, I couldn’t even get in myself this morning, I had to try all kinds of trick to post something new and then visit my old ones…eventually, hopefully it’ll open to you again, if not, no fear, ain’t nothin’ stoppin’[ me from visitin’ you…’sides wasn’t it you saying…all good things come to those who wait xxx
Sit home and everything will come on your door . NO way !!!! Nothing happens then . Action .. action .. action… that only applies to me ! And lot of effort .
The story of my life.
I do want to much…and we don’t need half of them…
nice quote.
I certainly don’t want to have everything. I mean, I wouldn’t want to clean it and dust it…
The waiting part is the hard one. But working towards a goal feels good, so I’m gonna get off my butt and do something.
“He does not seem to me to be a free man who does not sometimes do nothing”…Cicero
I totally believe the above and congratulate you on this great post Sera:))
I used to believe (and it is still ingrained in my character) that the universe unfolds in a ordered manner- all we need to do is be receptive towards it.
I realize (or maybe have deluded myself) that I have to be more proactive in achieving and accomplishing things. My biggest demon is this regard is “What’s-the-point?”
So… there is no such time when you do nothing. Some times that experience is enriching! Meditation!! I tried doing nothing oneday. And ate almost twice of what I usually eat
I should have meditated instead
