I do it too. I stand in my own way. I defeat myself. It’s like being chained.
When I look back on all these worries, I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed that he had had a lot of trouble in his life, most of which had never happened.
Quotation from Winston Churchill
Once you replace negative thoughts with positive ones, you’ll start having positive results.
Quotation from Willie Nelson

As usual, i love your drawings. And the dialoque makes me smile. Poor Seraphine having to listen to a self-analysis from her captor. I know exactly what you mean about we being our own worst enemies.
Well done, again…love what you come up with, and the quote is right on!
“Your fear (substitute worry) is holding you back in life.”
But her fear was part of her. It was inextricably linked to who she was. It was not simply an “unfortunate and amenable personality trait.”
~ Rachel Basch – Degrees of Love
I believe I have raised worrying to an art form – but still, somehow, have managed to maintain a positive outlook on life. I think of this as “being prudent.”
I’m a little bit afraid by this atmosphere!
Just a donkey secret! If you don’t have any brain damage, your life has no relief!
Willie Nelson has it right! Clear you head of negativity and things will get better,
Considering the effort to change our thought patterns sometimes it’s best to start small: May some sentient beings know happiness and the root of happiness; may some sentient beings be free from suffering and the root of suffering..
I am way tired of introspection. I have seen enough to know i am about where i want to be and need no further tweaking for now. But i have always done it to understand myself. Never to change what i am for someone else. I have never much cared what the majority of people think of me. If you are not a part of my life why should i care what you think? It is completely unimportant.
Oh forgot to mention i love that picture at the top. Its like a hallway of death.
Just stumbled across your website yesterday. LOVE the drawings, and today’s hits very close to home.
You have hit the nail squarely on the head once again. We all are our own worst enemies sometimes.
I like Nelsons quote – good night.
Your drawings are always so great
Okay..talking about spooky, those animal heads definitely are. Such an eerie feeling.
i totally know what you mean, only i’m the opposite, i have had a lot of happiness in the last 10 years that never happened, but what difference does it make then aye? happy happy, i love the photo of the creepy dead deer heads….
be active with all… no pity when we are on xxxxxbed…^_^ nice subject!
Willie Nelson’s quote is so true… Ah, Seraphine, your comments are always the best! So clever and funny! Still laughing of what you said about the sheep thing..:)
This is awesome! I like the thoughts and I will make it a point to be positive from here on out! The photograph with the deer heads has to be from Bliss, Idaho!
Works well in mono, nice one.
Some good quotes.
I agree our ability to cope successfully with life does depend upon our insight into our own mental world and that of others, but not all of us share equally in the same level of cognitive resources. We all have minor blind spots but for some a blind spot can represent an unawareness of a serious mental condition, suggesting to me our varying cognitive states warrant a collective compassion response as indicted by Susan.
In our day to day interaction talking is also preferable to e mail or texting as when you’re talking , the brain is releasing pleasurable feelings similar to the endorphins released during vigouress exercise- that is providing you’re not locked into a confrontationist mode. We often feel heaps better after a friendly chat don’t you think?
Best wishes
Love these quotes and your fabulous illustrations ! Less problems one would have if never listening gossips and what others are talking … I will never learn that and always have a headache because of these who has a soul satisfaction to talk dirty about you . Once I heard – after good horses there is always a big smoke

I can totally relate to this…I have such low self-esteem, but I’m working on it…hard!
Present life is the secret, trying to live each second not looking too much backwards, too much forwards, but LIVE NOW… I guess that’s what photo teaches me too… And agree with Mariana, dirty rumors are the worst but one has to go ahead without giving it too much attention, being more trustful and faithful in ourselves, our deepest selves * (superb images as always here, imaginative and so personal)
Love those quotes. Great photo too, a bit spooky though.
That top picture of the mounted deer heads is mesmerizing. Frightening. Cool.
My motto is “Be Awesome.” Everything works out with that kind of strategy. Except when you get hit by a car or attacked by a knife wielding midget. Or a raccoon with rabies. Being awesome becomes much more difficult in those circumstances..
We are all famous and great in our own ways, we just don’t see it. To me, you are Seraphine, who have a really cool comic published once a day.
Feeling good about oneself is a good thing, but it is not enough.
We also need to know (or at least feel) that what we are doing matters – that someone cares.
It also would help to have someone hold our hand and show us the ropes. It is like learning to ride a bike: you don’t just give a child a bike and say go, you don’t give them lots of instruction and moral support, no, you hold the bike, run with the child and keep letting go until the child wobbly goes off into the sunset.
As a friend told me: “To the world, you are one person. But to one person, you are the world” I agree with this, Sera! lol!!!!
