lol i never like anything i cook, the rare times i attempt cooking, my husband’s food tastes like heaven, but mine, yuck, all i taste is each little gross ingredient, like they don’t blend, you know that movie ‘like water for chocolate’? mine’s ‘like water for $#!^’ lol

  2. bluechameleon

Why is it that somebody else’s cooking always tastes so much better than your own?
    This is great!

  3. susan

I cook but I don’t love cooking. We have to eat so I cook. What we don’t have to eat is dessert. I love making dessert.

Healthy food has been my deal now for 22 months. I love hanging out in other people’s kitchens and talking with them. In fact, I’ll just invite myself on over Sera! :D )

  5. Tagazou

The donkey is a bad cooker…. but a not an exclusive eater, for him the best sharing moment is the meal!

  6. Zing

I don’t cook much because I’m horrible at it and I’m too lazy to learn, lol.

    Hi Sera

If it smells delicious it probably is – just like the words of that wonderful Irish American author, playwright and poet- John Keegan Casey who used the pen names of Padraic Colum or Martin Ross.

The lyrics of ‘Maire My Girl’ were put to music and made famous by the tenor John McCormack – switch on the old sound track to cook up an inspirational storm.

    Best wishes

Super!!! I’d share, I’m kind like that and I sure as hell am not absorbing all those calories without some help ;)

first visit .. the story is so funny …
    I will come back !
    Bien à toi !

  10. patti

I’ve been out of practice in cooking, I had a crash refresher course for Thanksgiving! It was delicious, but I shared.

Beware of favours! Even those with the best of intentions! ;)

smells could be very deceiving, that’s true, Ms. Seraphine (especially at night :-) ), but what ’s more deceiving are looks. Until one opens one’s mouth, you get just half the story. :-)

There are days when I am grateful people don’t like what I’ve cooked, since there is then more for me.

  14. Jim Gaudet

    Now I am hungry!

  15. Ken

Also, you always like what the other person orders in a restaurant.

  16. k@

Super face and I do agree with Bluechamelon question ;) Yum-yum !

  17. Stephanie

I’ve been really, really trying to develop a mindset where cooking is an adventure…not a ‘please-God-anything-but’ chore. …which is strange since I love food so much. I wish someone would cook for me. I think that may be the best solution for all involved. :-)

  18. Sebastien

Hehe, this is one of my favorite tactics. Of course you wouldn’t want this or like this, so I will do you a favor and keep it all for myself… muhahahhaha.

I’m actually not soooo evil. I just sound that way :)

  19. PM

the only thing i can cook is boiled water LOL

  20. Zee

I got so distracted by Stephanie’s comment that I lost my train of thought!
Aeh Sera, thanks for that kind comment you posted on my blog. I took it to heart.
I don’t mind cooking, sometimes I actually enjoy it quite a bit.

By the way “P. Colum” – was he also that Irish writer who wrote down all those legends, somewhat similar to the Brueder Grimm in Germany??? All right, you don’t have to answer me, I can Google it myself.

  21. martie

Love this one – and sometimes, I feel like not sharing too. Perhaps I’ll remember to say “I’m sure you wouldn’t like this”! :-)

  22. Seraphine Khorana

hmmm. I think Lindsay is right. The poet is John Keegan Casey. I don’t think, however, Casey used the pen name Padraid Colum, as far as I can tell from searching Google and Wikipedia. My apologies.

  23. flyingwind

Homer Simpson: “I wonder where Bart is, his dinner’s getting all cold, and eaten.”

  25. Ginnie

It does smell delicious, Seraphine…and I’m ready to come over and join you…if there’s anything left! :)

  26. Zhu

I don’t think I have ever cooked for people other than Feng and my family, come to think of it. But I don’t believe smell is deceptive…

  27. matthew

Ah the “i’m doing you a favor line”, One of my dad’s favorites when stealing something off my plate.

  28. Jean-Luc
