I remember taking an art class and hearing something like: our vision sees about 10% of things around us, and the mind fills in the rest, either through memory or assumption. Something of that nature, not positive it’s accurate, but it sounds about right.

I will never forget witnessing a car accident years ago on an icy road, Seraphine. I stayed behind and had to write up my account for the police. Later, when I had a chance to read the reports of other eye-witnesses, I remember being totally aghast at what I read…because the other witnesses saw something very different from what I saw. So your quote is right on. Even if we know what we saw, it doesn’t mean it was exactly what happened!

This brings back a recent memory of my trip to traffic court where I was contesting a citation for use of my cell phone and I told the judge my recollection of the conversation with the police officer and it was completely different from his story of our conversation. I figured at that point that my memory just stinks!

Love today’s comic! Great illustrations which show that sometimes, one doesn’t need a lot of words to get the idea across.

On a side note, I read a lot of thrillers and I have always wondered if I’d have an good alibi if I was ever questioned. Probably not actually.

This subject is so timely in terms of my life right now it’s a wee bit scary. The more time I spend with my mother, the more trouble I seem to have remembering things!

I love the way you’ve presented your story. The way you presented those shots. Because I think the memories are the shots taken by our mind the way we wanted to see things, We framed it, cropped it, the perspective etc. etc. the way we wanted it. And that’s what we remember. While someone else might a completely different angle to the story.

But… I am just sticking to my story.
