President Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize “for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”
Let us wish him well for all our sakes.
I intend to close Guantanamo, and I will follow through on that. I have said repeatedly that America doesn’t torture. And I’m gonna make sure that we don’t torture. Those are part and parcel of an effort to regain America’s moral stature in the world.
Quotation from President Barack Obama
If you’re walking down the right path and you’re willing to keep walking, eventually you’ll make progress.
Another Quotation from President Obama

I like Obama and am disturbed by the amount of hate and vitriol that is written about him every day. I’ll never understand middle America. I hope he can sort out the health care system – its current manifestation is a disgrace for a first world country
obama is a little too ‘charming’ for my liking, if you have ever gotten to really know charming people before, you’ll know what i mean lol… funny comic!!!!
I love the tree in that pic…
Personally i don’t care for Obama. He won’t be leading us to where we need to be but then again neither would any of the morons we have as leaders. I don’t know why we never get any decent leadership anymore. I suppose its gotten so bad up there that the morons in charge weed out the really useful ones before they ever become a threat.
I suspect the Nobel peace prize award was a knee jerk reaction brought about by the wave of relief in Europe at seeing the back of that old shrub George W. There are many people with greater claims to the award and Obama hasn’t actually done that much so far to establish himself as a peacmaker.. What does amaze me is how the American right can get away with the kind of vitriolic comments that they make about him and his projected bills, including downright lies and mis-information about the UK health service, when Georgie boy (a far worse man) got the kid glove treatment despite his incredible ability to cock things up.
I’ll just ditto Grouser and nursemyra
I do wish him well – for all our sakes.
Aie, aie, aie! A lot of crashes…
Looks like more than one missed the bend in the road. Matt Taibbi wrote a very interesting piece about the Peace Prize last week.
I do think we have to believe the Nobel Peace prize was not given away nonchalantly but with great consideration and thought. I personally believe he deserved it, even if it surprised me. I have lived off-n-on in Europe for the last 4 years and saw the slough of despond America became for them. For Obama to have won the presidency AND the hope of the world in his early months thus far speaks to what we all need right now: HOPE. Let’s just hope we can quit our bickering and allow him be the one who can lead us forward.
There are more critics in the world who can’t think straight than there are people who appreciate every effort made to keep peace.
Expect the earth is always orbicular and the sun always rises from the east… Talented blog of today! ^_0
It looks like many people have come up against that wall
Cool shot!
I truly wish him well. Sure, I was a bit surprised, but why not after all?
Personally I am not one who places emphasis on any awards per se. Awards are favoured by most but I personally make the tiny minority who think we can more than adequately recognize one another’s achievements without the need to perpetuate subjective awards.
The Nobel committee was no doubt mindful of the difference words and sentiment makes; the oratorory skill of Obama is very evident to everyone and there can be no doubt there is an improve feeling which yet is to materialize in any substantive changes. Is that what all the fuss is about ? – not enough action ! –but we could well be reminded what Gandhi said: “Your beliefs become your thoughts. Your thoughts become your words. Your words become your actions. Your actions become your habits. Your habits become your values. Your values become your destiny.”
Best wishes
Very good pictures ! with great reflexion ! great questionning !…
i hope that Obama’s actions will not finish in that wall like lot of cars
Your comic of today make me smile a lot , perfect for an early morning
thanks thanks thanks , what a pleasure to discover your post every day
Hey , j’aimerai bien qu’un jour tu fasses un comic en Français
deal ??
Have a great day
I like the picture of the wall with its scrapes, making clear that bending to “left” isn’t that easy. Left has to do with equal opportunities, equal rights, avoidance of punishment, etc. whereas right has to do with rewards and punishment (of course you yourself must be rewarded and others are to be punished
and the justice of pusuing one’s own interests (Adam Smith’s doctrine). Up to now, Obama lacks agressive and warning words against e.g. Russia and Iran like we are used to of Bush and Reagan, he has to cope with their inheritance. Revenge is always in the advantage of the opposer because it strengthens them in their false idea that you are their enemy. I like Obama.
As Jean Luc, the world hopes that Obama does not go into the wall and that the ideas he advocates can be applied …
Yes, it would be cool to do a drawing a day for the French en Français!
Your drawings are always extra, bravo!
I love the angle of the photo.
I love your opinion about my photo
so give them
I love the graphics as always Sera. Though not a political guy at all, I believe everyone deserves a chance to make a positive difference. I reserve the right to have doubts no matter who’s in the Oval Office. But, I say let’s see what happens. We all learn from putting our best effort forward.
Great photo, nice details. So many scratches on the wall!
