When you lose direction (velocity), you’re susceptible to Zitterbewegung, or that jittery existence between positive and negative energy. Some call it ambivalence, others describe it as lethargy. It’s not being able to move in any direction.
What to do if you find yourself stuck in a crack in the ground underneath a giant boulder you can’t move, with no hope of rescue. Consider how lucky you are that life has been good to you so far. Alternatively, if life hasn’t been good to you so far, which given your current circumstances seems more likely, consider how lucky you are that it won’t be troubling you much longer.
Quotation from Douglas Adams, The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

Lemme give you a hand out from under that rock!
Nothing in the universe is static and as anyone who went to Saturday Morning Pictures will tell you, despite the impossible cliff hangers every week, no situation is inescapable, especially when it’s a metaphorical one.
is that a bunny on the first box? i like zero. it is first on everything. well not if you cnound negative digits. LOL
When you lose your supposedly intended and anticipated direction, the new path/journey can take you to a better place. (I know – I’m there.)
And it’s not always lethargy that prevents you from moving – one needs time to discover and contemplate the signs and signals pointing toward that new direction.
Amazing enough, you can survive being buried beneath a boulder – you just have to remember to breathe…there’s air in that crack.
(whew…long comment…)
OK, THGTTG is just a great movie to be quoting!
How are you doing Sera?
Many kisses for you girl!
Sorry, I don’t do numbers. Science won’t rule my life!
It is known that there are an infinite number of worlds, simply because there is an infinite amount of space for them to be in. However, not every one of them is inhabited. Any finite number divided by infinity is as near nothing as makes no odds, so the average population of all the planets in the Universe can be said to be zero. From this it follows that the population of the whole Universe is also zero, and that any people you may meet from time to time are merely products of a deranged imagination.
so said Douglas Adams
and remember – if you google the meaning of life the answer is always 42
We seek to understand quantum mechanics through the prism of classical physics rather than understand classical physics through the application of the quantum. Many seek refuge in science to adopt a totally materialistic based philosophy; at odds with what I see of your spiritual dimension and of others which I know can ultimatedly get you through life’s trials and tribulations.
Best wishes
wheeeeoooooo! you really know how to start a discussion, doncha! so now we’re on ‘the meaning of lif’ (‘e’ deliberately excluded, also a’ la Doug Adams… answer, as Su says, is 42) …my only opinion on the subject boils down to not taking ourselves too seriously. no one gets out of this alive. but gee, enjoy the ride, look at the scenery, make a little music, and don’t spoil it for the fella who has to ride along in the seat beside you.
oh, I loved this.
lol Sera: I call it inertia and it happens to the best of us. To the loving, sensive, kind, generous and even those whom I admire with true talent like you! Alas, there was a saying once: “This Too Shall Pass”. And when it does, I have a feeling radiant light will shower forth! Here’s to a rainshower of Marsian Fireflies!
