So is this you in the first pic? Really interesting posts. Thanks for taking a look through my blog. Yeah its only been about 4 months since I first started and this is my first time blogging. I never seem to write much in my posts, don’t consider myself much of a writer but I like to think that the pictures speak for themselves.
Bulls, bears and now swans. What is the financial world’s strange obsession with wild life. A desperate search for credibility through totem figures perhaps?

Swans were all thought to be white until black ones were discovered in Western Australia in the 18th century.
I think “Black Swan” events will frequent our lifetime more often than we can imagine and trying to insure against “Black Swan” events is a very tricky business.
- Rumsfeldian Philosophy (not logic) attempted to say (I think) that our existence is series of events that eventually make up an interpretable pattern.
“There are no knowns. There are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns – that is to say, there are things that we now know we don’t know but there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we do not know we don’t know,”

finance is built on a system which relies on abstracts which have very little innate value, but are agreed by the participants to have value – printed paper and electronic information, mostly. we can neither eat it nor drink it, nor shelter our bodies with it. this begs the question, “what is normal?”
