I know I’m blind. I assume others are blind too. That’s why nature gave us feelers.
The minute I heard my first love story I started looking for you, not knowing how blind that was. Lovers don’t finally meet somewhere. They’re in each other all along.
Quotation from Persian poet Jalal ad-Din Rumi
I am glad ’tis night, you do not look on me,
For I am much ashamed of my exchange:
But love is blind and lovers cannot see
The pretty follies that themselves commit.
Quotation from William Shakespeare, The Merchant Of Venice

I haven’t been around for a little while… sorry. But whenever I do drop around, your little stories always seem to move me. I love this one particularly. You are a hero of everyday life, capturing feelings and inspiring thought in such a beautiful way.
Love is that feeling not always easy to quantify, but it need not be blind since it can continue despite tradgedy’ s and deep sorrow.
I love a sunburnt country,
A land of sweeping plains,
Of ragged mountain ranges,
Of droughts and flooding rains
I love her far horizons
I love her jewel- sea
Her beauty and her terror
The wide brown land for me!
Dorothea Mackellar

Sera – esteemed blogger BFF – I had to make my blog private.
I know.
Big fat Boo.
You can still read it if you sign in.
Again, I know.
Big fat hassle.
I hope this is only temporary. I’d hate to lose your “readership.” =) I’ll keep reading and posting on yours — just so you won’t forget about me. LOL
The love we have for another is a recognition of a love we have for ourself.
This is such a beautiful piece Seraphine.
Sarah. Blogger says you have to invite me. I’m an uninvited leper currently.
Or perhaps you (we) just think we can see what others fail to comprehend. (I’m a bit of a cynic.)
Why do they say love is blind? It’s people who are blind. Because they can’t see what love is bringing with it.
Nice quote from Jalal. Puts it perfectly.
Whatever love is
It takes time and commitment when the infatuation has gone and you see clearly again
Friend!
I am going to NYC at 12 th of march, but I really can´t wait!
a kiss and a hug for you!
Seraphine: One of your finest posts. I read it three times. A friend of mine who is thoroughly, deeply, madly in love with his wife told me that his philosophy is “I was in love with her my entire life. I just didn’t know it”. That one took me a while to grasp, but I see now how cool it is. lol to you!!!!

Maybe the blindness is being able to wilfully put aside faults and quibbles in order to bring out the best in each other. I think you can choose to do this and yet we mainly fall into the trap of allowing faults to colour our view of how it’s not working out. Perhaps when we stop overlooking faults is when we have truly become blind.
How wonderful…i do love your work:-)
I know I´m blind in one eye for sure.
Love this cartoon, great images to illustrate!
