Most towns in Costa Rica have something in common: a central square (or soccer field) with a school and a church nearby. These places are the soul of a town, and a source of pride because all Costa Rican’s have a right to an education.
Pilate: Who is this broken man?
Cluttering up my hallway?
Who is this unfortunate?
Soldier: Someone Christ, King of the Jews
Pilate: Oh, so this is Jesus Christ
I am really quite surprised
You look so small
Not a king at all
We all know that you are news
But are you king?
King of the Jews?
Jesus: That’s what you say
Lyrics from Pilate And Christ, Jesus Christ Superstar
If Jesus Christ were to come today people would not even crucify him. They would ask him to dinner, and hear what he has to say, and make fun of it.
Quotation from Thomas Carlyle

That’s a very powerful series of images.
I think Thomas Carlyle might have underestimated the intensity of a fully realized Person.
I am not quite sure what I am supposed to say to this. It seems to be the most arbitrary post I have seen from you this far. What was it that triggered this?
Anyhow, I am a big fan of the music and the production of Jesus Christ Superstar for one reason or an other.
When I saw the movie as a teenager, I was disappointed though. I was convinced that Christ could at least walk across a swimming-pool.
I love the music from the show but I hated the silly movie. What a powerful image that would be to look at. I think the dinner table convo with Christ would be rather similar to his discourse when he went to dinner with the Riff-Raff tax collectors of his day. He most prolly wouldn’t be let in to the 10 Inauguration Balls at the White House … lol!
The music from the movie is a better rendition than the one from the Broadway production, you at least have to give me that, Abigail!
amazing images. I’m not religious but I love the iconography
I love Superstar… Great movie/opera.
So great description….it seems to be a good country
The images are beautiful Sera. Thanks for your thoughts and the posting them. As for dinner with Jesus. I would be to awe struck to say anything. Thoughts you make me ponder. awesome you are.
ciao bella!

When I gave the Eulogy at my best friend’s funeral in 1997, the Pastor told us that the one thing people miss about Jesus is that in every instance, every one he reached out a hand to help–he became their friend first. This powerful Blog Post reminded me of that message and that day, Seraphine.
I find those images disturbing – beautifully done, but disturbing.
I wear a ring with that bears his name. I’ll show sometime in a photo…
Those pictures are freaky
I saw them somewhere else on the internet the other day…
so realistic
