I’m ok with flying. It’s the “unscheduled landings” that make me nervous. My attitude is don’t worry too much about what could happen, because most of the time there isn’t anything you can do but pray and try to survive.

I had this dream that I was on
An airplane afraid to fly
So I tipped my head to the side and I
Whispered to this man that was in the aisle.
I said, “Do you know how long it takes before we Die?”

Lyrics from A Rocket To The Moon, Fear Of Flying

A lot of people in San Francisco tonight are going to be tied up, and thousands over the next month or so, and very few of them are going to end up in the emergency room or dead.

Never let someone tie you up in your home on the first date.

Oh, fear not in a world like this,
And thou shalt know erelong,
Know how sublime a thing it is
To suffer and be strong.

Poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, The Light of Stars in Knickerbocker
