I worry I haven’t done enough for Christmas. I meant to get a tree Friday, but I ran out of time. I’m worried about money. Did I buy enough presents? What if I lose my job? It’s important to me not to disappoint anyone. We’ll get the tree tomorrow, together.
Earlier Saturday, protesters attacked a city-sponsored Christmas tree in central Athens, tossing garbage and hanging trash bags from its branches before clashing with riot police.
Quotation from Demetris Nellas, Associated Press, reporting from Greece
Moving between the legs of tables and of chairs,
Rising or falling, grasping at kisses and toys,
Advancing boldly, sudden to take alarm,
Retreating to the corner of arm and knee,
Eager to be reassured, taking pleasure
In the fragrant brilliance of the Christmas tree…
Poem by T.S. Eliot, Animula

Christmas shouldn’t be a worry … it’s meant to be a relax and enjoy thing. What has happened to our world that we get anxious that we haven’t “done enough” … all we have to do is “be” … it’s more than enough. I love the fragrance of a real Christmas tree … it can’t be beat. Enjoy!
That tree has potential
and look on the bright side
It’s already decorated
Christmas can become a stressful time so take it easy and don’t worry too much about all the presents or the job but have a merry Christmas.
This year as our family grows in size we decided upon a Kris Kringle. in Australia that means each family member draws out of hat whose present he is to buy- (obviously not his or hers own) Hence everyone only receives one present from within the family group.
Best wishes
I’m right there with you Sera. I have no decorations up, no tree, very few presents bought. Sad. To be honest, I’d rather spend my Christmas – not with my family – but with the homeless at a shelter or something. But I doubt I’ll even do that. Oh, ho hum! xo
hey.. enjoy ur Xmas.. and the New year!
I’m allergic to real trees.
One year we lived in a place where the living room was so small we went and got unwanted Christmas tree branches, fastened them to the wall in a tree shape and then decorated. It was one of the prettiest ever. I wish you a good one
I like Lindsays Kris Kringle idea and I like Susan’s attitude about branches…
Good luck with your hunt tomorrow Sera.
bare shoulers and thighs in the snow? ain’tcha cold darlin’?
I’m the biggest grinch of all this year. No tree and not so many presents. I want to spend Christmas under a blanket with G, watching movies next to a fireplace. I guess in my case, it will be next to a radiator.
Ah, sorry to hear your stressin. Hope you can take it easy soon.
