The White Cockatoo in northern Queensland is hosting a month-long “Almost Anything Goes” party to help people cope with the world’s greatest financial crisis since the Great Depression. “Tough economic times call for stiff measures,” declares clothing-optional resort owner Tony Fox. “No, we’re not the Sheraton” the resort warns, but the drinks are included in the price. And think of the additional airline fees you’ll save by travelling to Australia without troublesome luggage (look Mom, no clothes!).
I am nude as a chicken neck, does nobody love me?
Yes, here is the secretary of bees with her white shop smock,
Buttoning the cuffs at my wrists and the slit from my neck to my knees.
Now I am milkweed silk, the bees will not notice.
They will not smell my fear, my fear, my fear.
Poem by Sylvia Plath, The Bee Meeting

I love Sylvia Plath, she’s amazing. And so are you, by the way.

Classy garment you wear there Sera, you better hide that one from the wolf of recession!
The story is funny (as so often). Just read on the CNN travel section today about the bathing place Baden Baden in Germany, a hot spring place established during Roman times. Anyhow, American tour guides continuously discourage there tourists to enter that famous and posh establishment. Why? Everybody is naked…
I guess the puritan heritage in American society is still deeply engraved.
As for the recession slump right now, maybe we need to learn from you and start making our own clothing again.

Just maybe the Capitalism (of Greed) needs to have it’s clothing ripped off. Then the people of the world can see what is real and what is needful to pick up the pieces and move on.
Too funny Sera … I would have come already prepared with the salt … always expects the michevious spirit does I.

Perhaps the next AIG junket could be there but instead of luxurious accommodations they could be introduced to the Aboriginal Walkabout. The mischievous spirits might really show them a thing or two.

Long live nakedness!
I have my own way to cope: going traveling far away from any major financial place.
I love the Sylvia Plath verses, she’s one of my fav poets/writers.

Thanks for your comment. Eggplant is the color of the bag.
Goes to show you my lack of culture: everyone else is commenting on Sylvia Plath; I’m sitting here going, “Ooh. Chunky Monkey.”

Although a bag for carrying eggplants would be cool!
I love making eggplant lasagna! And yes, purple is a marvelous color. INDEED! Let Them Eat Cake!
“Silvia Path! Interesting poetress whose tragic suicide was mistakenly interpreted as romantic by college girl mentality.”
