All of the presidents told the contestants they could spend more than they received. Money doesn’t grow on trees but it was thought you can make more and more money out of credit by creating a mountain of debt. Faced with such a nasty set of circumstances I think the USA needs to jettison any notion it can ‘go it alone’.
