When the IQ of a crowd reaches 38, I usually sell.
In financial terms, this is called a mental stop-loss.
What Comes After the Great Unwinding? (Reuters)
I would sell my life to avoid
the pain that begins in the crib
with its bars or perhaps
with your first breath
when the planets drill
your future into you.
Poem by Anne Sexton, The Big Boots of Pain
These I assume were words so deeply meant
They cut themselves in stone for permanent
Like trouble in the brow above the eyes:
TAKE CARE TO SELL YOUR HORSE BEFORE HE DIES
THE ART OF LIFE IS PASSING LOSSES ON.
Poem by Robert Frost, The Ingenuities of Debt
P.S. All bleeding eventually ends.

Didn’t someone in a movie once say “people are dumb. A person is clever, but people are dumb…”

Thanks Sera … a dyslexic pixie typed that in there. Nothing spreads so fast as “stupid” (and hysteria)
Grr … join the dots stupid (Wednesday Muse
I don’t think much of that selling was optional – The quantitative risk manager’s big bets were fatally flawed and they had to sell, at any price.
Best wishes

I love the fishnets, but abhor Anne Sexton.
Lol, Anne’s complaining of pain? Life will bring pain at some point but you just move on or don’t. personally i can deal with pain. Whats the alternative after all? If choosing between the pains of life and finding out what if anything is after death i would prefer to deal thank you very much.
It is amazing how gatherings of humans tends to drop the individual i.q. of the members. Kind of fascinating to watch though.
Great post Seraphine.
It reminds me how the world just comes at us like were targets for the sales and the adds – they seem to be just about every where!
Thanks again.

Yup, it’s easy to get people to panic.

It’s all selling in the end. Or buying. Nice work as always Sera.

It says a lot about our society that TMZ is on the television airwaves!
Have a nice rest of the week, Seraphine!
