Love catches up with you, every time, sooner or later, without fail.
You hurt the one you love. They hurt you.
But perhaps Love, sweet love, gets the blame unfairly
because it’s not Love itself that is flawed, but us, we and ourselves.
My heart’s in the right place. I know, ‘cuz I hid it there.
Quotation from Carrie Fisher
I love being married. It’s so great to find one special
person you want to annoy for the rest of your life.
Quotation from Rita Rudner
Why do you hurt me so bad?
It would help me to know-
Do I stand in your way, or am I the best thing you’ve had?
Lyric from Pat Benatar, Love is a Battlefield
Once you’ve loved someone, you’d do anything
in the world for them… except love them again.
Quotation from Anonymous/Unknown

ain’t that true *sigh*

When Albert Schweitzer first read an article describing the desperate need for medical doctors in Africa in the region then known as the Congo, he decided to become a jungle Doctor. This was to the chagrin of his close friends in academia who he said “put a fist in my heart “ , arguing he could do more from his existing privileged position in society than to undertake such a rigorous long course of study.
Best wishes

“Love is chemicals” was the opinion of a friend. I’m not convinced yet.

It works both ways. Sometimes it’s not the guy who does the hurting.

“All is fair in love;
love’s a crazy game;
Two people vow to stay
in love as one
they say
But all is changed with time;
the future no one can see;
the road you leave behind.
Ahead lies mystery.
But all is fair in love.
I had to go away.
A writer takes his pen
to write the words again;
All in love is fair.”
Thank you Sera for letting this wonderful song by Stevie Wonder come up to my mind again today…

The only problem with love is that it is usually not equal. There is usually someone in the relationship that is more in love than the other one. Why is it so hard for two people to love each other equally? Is our species doomed to get ever more lazy, selfish, and intolerant? I think our times have gotten interesting. Relationships are breaking up over stupid things like one of them spending way too much time on the computer. If you are spending more hours on the computer than you are with your partner than there is a serious problem there. People just aren’t willing to work things out anymore. They ignore the problems until they get to the point where they are intolerable and then they leave. The initial spark of love is great but it will only take you so far unless you are one of the few extremely lucky ones who finds a partner who loves you equally. After the spark fades a bit you better have communicated and worked the problems out or the relationship is doomed. As is every other one you have as time goes on and you haven’t learned the lesson.
That last quote is the best one of all…

Love seems to attract all the pain, but has that edge of sweetness that nothing else has. I will do love over hate any day.

Yes, love and pain, love and drama, love and wait, love and love… these words are pairing well.

I loved the Runway reference (I found it! and you rock!). To accept the call to love is to risk pain. But I’m glad that love is as rare as it really is, because we wold take it for granted. A nice post, Seraphine! (BTW: I can see you sleeping with your cool glasses on!).
I agree with you! People should be more carefull with the harts of others!
I am, but it’s amazing how some people realy don’t care!
