Really good magazines know how to edit, right?
In fact, I prefer they embellish, polish and make
me sound brilliant. Like I really am. Sometimes.
Runway Magazine, August 2008 (I’ll be in the September issue)
Fashion is primitive in its insistence on exhibitionism, which withers in isolation. The catwalk fashion show with its incandescent hype is its apotheosis. A ritualized gathering of connoiseurs and the spoilt at a spotlit parade of snazzy pulchritude, it is an industrialized version of the pagan festivals of renewal.
Quotation from Stephen Bayley, Fashion: Being and Dressing

I love the spread on pages 4 & 5

Wow… Second life is still such a completely foreign world to me. I did read that there was everything there, but it wouldn’t have occured to me there would be magazines too, with writers who do interviews, and photographers and everything… Amazing. I’m sure you and your model agency willl look fantastic in this magazine.

Oh, yeah, editors edit – big time. But I’m sure every word of yours was brilliant, so no problem!
I’ll watch for the September edition.

Ooohhh… you’ll have to let us know when the September issue comes out.
And no worries, dear Sera, you’re always, always eloquent.
I don’t quite agree with that Bayley quote. I think the catwalk might be a perpetual promotion to sustain anorexia as a unhealthy life style, other than that fashion has, and always will be, some kind of statement of who you think you are.
Even if you think you are avoiding the issue, you still make a statement.
Clothes just happen to be the fur of human beings, can’t alter that.
If I were a cat, my worries how to look like would all be over. I would basically be of radiant beauty by default.
Now there is something positive to say about NOT being a cat. It has to do with the issue of freedom of expression their individuality. Humans deserve that (’cause they have no fur).
So good luck to you Sera with your “cat-walk” in that “Runaway Fashion” magazine.
Designing clothing can be an art (should be) – and not only a commercial gimmick.

I once tried to be a runway model, but they told me that my boobs are too big.
It took me some time to realize Runway was a SL magazine. I’ m sure your models and your edited story will be superb.
Best wishes
Great! Eloquence doesn’t mean that there is any meaningful content
