Some say that time is just arbitrary and that past, present and future are really all the same. Time doesn’t necessarily need to be linear and there is definitely moments when I feel that.

You could always introduce the idea of imaginary time, horizontal to our concept of ordinary time, down the page, at right angles to the linear horizontal time line where early time is on the left and later time is on the right.
Imagine the 3 existing space directions of latitude longitude and height above sea level joining up with imaginary time to form a space time that is closed in on itself and representative of the shape of a sphere without boundaries or edges, with the imaginary time line meeting up around the back of it. Stephen Hawking says you can only make sense of it all by using non computable imaginary numbers

Time is a construct. It means nothing in the large view. We use it to make sense of what we see and experience. There are places in the universe where perceivable time doesn’t exist.
I do marvel at how my perceived time seems to be shorter than i think it should. Especially when anywhere but work.

I want to stay zen-like in the present, but I’m fighting my mind every second. I keep looping over negative experiences from the past, and imagining negative experiences in the future. I am definitely not optimizing my multi directional experiencs.
I’m actually reading a book called “The Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle. He reinforces that it’s a good idea to stay present, but he hasn’t given me the info I need to make my mind comply.

There is so much information around pushing us into directions. If we do this, if we don’t do that, if we etc. then “things’ are better. It’s difficult to choose and makes it attractive to stay in the here and now. We live in a pressure cooker: individual accountability gets more and more important, but also the standards and requirements we must meet, imposed by what’s appropriate according to a guru, to performance rules, to our health, to fairness etc. 30 years ago these standards and requirements were far less, and also our individual accountability.
