The Mandibular Nerve Pinch
Professional Wrestling is fake. If it was real, they’d kill each other.
Yet call someone on it, and they’ll show you their battle scars.
There are two kinds of people: Those who are embarrassed by their
scars and those that are proud of them. Which kind are you?

Professional Wrestling Holds (Wikipedia.org)
“Children show scars like medals. Lovers use them as secrets to
reveal. A scar is what happens when the word is made flesh.”
Quotation from Leonard Cohen, The Favourite Game
“He jests at scars that never felt a wound.
But, soft! what light through yonder window breaks?
It is the east, and Juliet is the sun.”
Quotation from William Shakespeare, Romeo & Juliet

love the leonard cohen quote. have you seen that marvellous recent documentary about him?
I love my scars, particularly the 8 inch one on my thigh
(and in answer to a question you asked on my blog, no, I was more than happy to be incognito)

Lewis Grizzard’s grandmother insisted that the moon landing was a hoax, but professional wrestling was real.

How wonderful that you shall quote Leonard Cohen just today. I saw him at Glastonbury festival, in his first live performance in fifteen years, and he was absolutely amazing. It gave me goose bumps. I wanted to run on stage and hug him. He is wonderful.

I got chickenpox when I was 42 and a star map on my forehead.
I had brain surgery for an avm and aneurysm at 55 so have a sharp point at my temple.
Ras is right. Scars have better stories than tattoos.

I like the five point exploding heart technique (cf. Kill Bill) best. Not that I have tried it, of course.

I don’t like wrestling. I think it’s stupid. Yes the outcomes are scripted. However, you must give the wrestlers kudos. For a man that’s 6′6″ tall, weighing over 300lbs, to be able to do cartwheels and other acrobatic feats… well those guys are incredible atheletes.

I updated my blogroll today. I try to keep my
list short, but each time I update, a couple more
seem to creep in. I deleted a couple blogs just
because they had been on my list for a long time.
I’m sorry. I’m sorry if it was you. I wish I could
put everyone I like on the blogroll, but it gets
impossibly long. Hugs.

Interesting post. I used to watch the fugitive.
I can say this is what I think and I have the scars to prove it ! . But to recognize the scars in ourselves and in others is to engender the first step in the healing process.
Best wishes
