“To make a prairie it takes a clover and one bee…
The revery alone will do if bees are few.”

Poem by Emily Dickinson, To Make a Prairie

“What do we want with this vast and worthless area,
of this region of savages and wild beasts, of deserts, of
shifting sands and whirlwinds, of dust, of cactus and prairie
dogs; to what use could we ever hope to put these great
deserts, or those endless mountain ranges, impenetrable
and covered to their very base with eternal snow?”

Quotation by U.S. Senator Daniel Webster (1824)

“And they looked at the flat land and said, “By God I see a future for us” and so became Kansas, something out of nothing which in turn is snothing :) “-Ras

I’m ok. We hid on the first floor with mattresses
and pilllows covering us. It wiped out Chapman
and hit Manhattan directly. K-State campus is a
mess. True Value Hardware is gone.

We had like tornado night here. Although, I think Iowa got the brunt of it.

I always think of the story of a guy I knew not so long ago, who’s pregnant girlfriend went off to Kansas City (her parents took her away from him, he wasn’t the biological father) So he decided to go find her. But then he found out there were 2 Kansas Cities. He didn’t know which one she was in. It was a sad story, needless to say.

    I’d have said Wal-Mart!

Sounds like a Jaywalking, all the answers are too smart for it of course.
