The Motion of the Ocean
I had to ride in the front seat. Even then,
my parents had to stop the car so I could
get out. Closing my eyes made it even worse.

The Science of Motion Sickness (Science Daily)
“The daughter who is her father’s indulged “little princessâ€
may spend the rest of her life stamping her foot when
she doesn’t get her way, or pulling away when a love
affair hits rough waters, or becoming a fair-weather
friend who detaches when a chum asks too much of her.”
Quotation from Victoria Secunda, Women and Their Fathers

I’ve never experienced motion sickness before. I have experienced, however, non-motion sickness. I always have to be moving (or my surroundings moving), or else I do feel sick.

I like the comic. I have pretty bad motion sickness. My dad used to drive very sudden stops (all the time)…and I would puke in the car, all the time. Great childhood.
I like the “They’re old chums of mine” line haha…

I suffered of road motion sickness looooooong ago, when I was a child and a teenager later on. Then I felt sick even on sea and sometimes by air :/
Now I don’t suffer of motion sickness anymore and I don’t why or how that happened.
I am dreaming a lot again, tough
Btw Sera, I linked to your previous post on my latest flcikr pic, hope you won’t mind.

Eidur. Of course I don’t mind. Hugs.
Nova-san. I’ve heard sharks are like that. They never stop moving, or they will die.
Secret Agent. I hope your dad didn’t make you hurl on purpose!

get me into motion - I will not complain if I feel sick thereafter.
cars and buses made me throw up when I was young.
now I go on any boat, in any seas and feel just fine - funny how time can change metabolisms, the balance of the inner ear canal and all kind of other things…

We came to Canada on a small ship across the Atlantic in March. I was sick until my Dad (who was a sailor in the War) made me get up and walk around the deck. He was so happy to be at sea again he needed to share the experience. We met the captain and visited the engine room and I was never sick at sea again. My mother stayed in bed til Montreal.
