I’m overwhelmingly reasonable. I hate losing my sense of control.
That’s why Lust seems so appealing to me. Lust is a careless sin
one can feel good about (with apologies to those who feel otherwise).
Lust Dulls the Spiritual Senses (Whitestone Journal)
The Difference between Love, Lust & Marriage (The Humor Bin)
“Lust is to the other passions what the nervous fluid is
to life; it supports them all, lends strength to them all.”
Quotation from Marquis de Sade,
L’Histoire de Juliette ou les Prospérités du Vice
“Carnal lust rules where there is no love of God.”
Quotation from St. Augustine, Enchiridion
“When, Goddess, thou liftst up thy wakened Head,
Out of the Mornings purple bed,
Thy Quire of Birds about thee play,
And all the joyful world salutes the rising day.”
Poem by Abraham Cowley, Hymn: To Light
Tomorrow: Hell Week, Part 3: Why I’m a Glutton.

Lust is probably one of my worst (best?) sins…
Sorry, no sleazy details fiollowing…
I love this series Sera and you’re a genius!
so nice, so nice, so nice!
a kiss and a hug!
Lust for life which brings forth pleasure or delight or as a liking towards a person, or as an appetite or desire or inclination is very similar to love and can mean exactly the same thing. Lust of the flesh was associated in Pauline philosophy as to be dominated by the flesh rather than the spirit.
Reverence for all life will acknowledge life as a gift; such reverence allows us to lift it to its true value.
Attempting to separate out the spiritual from the secular in what is good and sacred is what will lead to us becoming caged and imprisoned in our thinking.
The original Biblical text from the Hebrew in the Old Testament “epithumia†can also mean to covet but the word is used in that Hebrew context to denote either good or bad. Lust and love is wrong if it is all about greed and self satisfaction at the expense of another but not when it involves mutually desired loving intimacy.
Best wishes
I don’t like losing my sense of control either but a bit of lust can’t hurt. We all need some in life! That’s what make us humans.
You almost drove me crazy with this post, but that’s OK, there is a thin threshold anyhow, something to tiptoe back and forth with.
Lust is like the craving for chocolate, sweet and instant satisfaction quickly consumed.
I dare say that you do a fabulous job to trigger those cravings.
What would I do without you?
Poor husband must shriek to see your creations.
But then, he might even savor the expeditions you take.
So what’s up with this “HELL WEEK” series? Do you travel to places you wish not to be?
Zoom back then, stay alert but put.
Yours, the Zee man.
