The Reading
What Mothers Say to their Daughters:
Say anything about anyone as long as you say “Bless her heart”.
Don’t make a face, your expression might freeze that way.
Don’t read in the dark, you’ll ruin your eyes.
Never ride on a motorcycle.
Play hard to get.
Sit up straight.
Stop whining.
Bless her heart.
How to make an Origami Fortune Teller (Heather Watts)
What is your fortune, my pretty maid?
“My face is my fortune, Sir,†she said.

I always laugh when I think about all the litttle pieces of “advice” that I used to hear from my mom. It’s so funny because the one that she always used to tell me was that I should always wear nice underwear, because God forbid if I got into an accident, what would the paramedics people say if they saw me wearing cruddy underwear??? Hahahaha - it’s so funny. It really just makes me laugh with warmth and nostalgia thinking about it. =)

My mum always used to say that too; it’s a mum classic.

Fortunes and good fortune aside it’s those unrealistic expectations that raise the bar too high which can make us unhappy.
You don’t have to be an angel to become a saint.
We can be happy with our life choice outcomes but that does not mean we will always be happy with all of our day to day living, even when we love the work we are doing. If you set out to do good things don’t expect others to always help, in fact don’t be surprised if some make it difficult to achieve what you have set out to do.Life is a mystery and when that is acknowledged so begins a thinking which can lead us to sense of wonderment and reverence for all life.
best wishes

Don’t make a face, your expression might freeze that way.
I heard that many times! I love this comic, one of my favorite so far. Truth is, when we really can’t make a choice, we feel lost and would listen to anything.

I think we encounter mysterious beings all the time.
When you are a warrior the unseen world welcomes you.

God, Sera, you are an absolute treasure box, I love you! And I love this comic, it’s fantastic.
I hold those things I still remember that my mum used to say to me very dear. Things like, be careful what you wish for, it might become true.
