The Waiting Game

Sometimes, I count to ten before saying anything.
Then twenty. Then thirty. Finally, I don’t say anything.
Most of the time, though, I’m impatient. My words
race ahead of my brain. I have an opinion on everything.

“Our impatience betrays us into rash and
foolish alliances which no God attends.”

Quoted from Ralph Waldo Emerson, Friendship

“Waiting for you
I’m waiting
Can’t you see I’m waiting for you
Don’t break my heart”
Song by Madonna, Waiting

I am always way too opinionated, but I tend to keep it to myself. I’ve learned my lessons. ;-)

Morning, Seraphine! You’ve inspired me to post something cool tomorrow! Yeah I know…but it’ll be worth the wait!

It is always a good idea to wait before you respond if your emotions are too strong at the moment. A rash response may lead to regret and damaged relationships

Don’t count and say it. Words can poison us if we hold them for too long sometimes.

There are times when I wish I had waited before saying something, or at least thought about what I was about to say, but then it’s too late. But usually I wait too long before saying anything because I’m shy. :)

There is difference between waiting - and biding one’s time…

Patience provides rich rewards but it seems also to be rather poorly understood. It does not mean we put off doing things or are impervious to social ills or lack timely decisive positive action, or have to bite our tomgue, but rather through a patient approach we are less likely to become stressed or aggravated and more likely to calmly see the world as if through another’s shoes.

Often its a good idea to simply ask a question to better understand anothers view before putting our own.The age of technology and instant information has given us the impression we can always expect instant answers and responses. In my opinion misinformation is worse than no information at all since it will lead us to erroneous conclusions.

    Best wishes

    I’m with RuneE.

There’s so little unstructured time available to us that we might as well use what we get - seeing it as a gift and enjoying the rewards of contemplation.

I hate the waiting game, I am very impatient.
The waiting game is useless pain to me. But seems like it has to be done.

I should be more patient, I’m learning little by little, but sometimes I just can’t take.. And I hate waiting as well:-S
