In Bed With Bush
I love fortune cookies. You have to eat some
of the cookie, or the fortune might not come true.
“You won’t be able to sleep tonight, but because of good fortune.”
-A naughty fortune cookie
“Fortune cannot aid those who do nothing.”
Quotation from Sophocles, Fragments
“While fortune smiles, you’ll count your friends by scores;
If the sky clouds over, you will be alone.”
Quotation from Ovid, Tristia
…in bed with Bush.

Ah, I love fortune cookies too. Such fun little things. I’d always heard that you had to eat the whole cookie, before you read the fortune, if you wanted it to come true. The best fortune cookie I’ve ever gotten read:
“One day, you will die.”
I wonder if I ate that cookie? I like the simple truth of it, and the that it’s actually a fortune, rather than a pithy saying like so many. And that it’s not the sort of thing you expect to find in a fortune cookie - it’s too dark, too true.

Here’s one:
You can always find happiness at work on Friday.
“…in bed with Bush”
Imagine if some White House aide got that one.

I love fortune cookies. Chinese food just isn’t complete without the fortune cookie at the end of the meal.
But the thought of anything with Bush, let alone “… in bed with Bush…” - that would make me want to give back whatever I just ate.

Quick scan for unusual cookie fortunes and I found these:
You have an unusual equipment
for success, use it properly.
Because of your melodic nature,
the moonlight never misses an appointment.
