Children playing in Amboy, Washington recently found a parachute where
some roadwork was being done. It was parachute #307551, dated February
21, 1946. It might have been D.B Cooper’s. Isn’t it strange that a hijacker
is romantically described by some as being a “Robin Hood” figure?

that story is fascinating – I almost forgot about it until you brought it up now…
indeed this story is very fascinating (almost like the redhead girl’s jacket is, if I have to say…) and I’ve never heard of it.
thanx for lettin my knowledge grow, Sera
Never heard of DB, but your story did make me laugh and think of all the Robins we need in the world, plus the big feet big ear rationale.
You know history has turned D.B. Cooper into a bit of a hero. But was the entire point of his jumpin out of that plane all for the simple fact that he wanted to get away with it dead or alive? A ten year old found an old back pack in the mountains near where he jumped in 1974, investigators thought it belonged to D.B. Cooper, did he plummet to his unfortunate demise or was it all a ROOZE? Doo wee ooh dooooo! Cool comic Seraphine.
that’s interesting, I’m going to read up more on it!
The “bigfoot” reference reminded me of the punchline of a joke: “Here’s a hundred, pal, and with all due respect, go out and buy yourself a pair of shoes that fit.”
i wish i had big ears!
Perhaps he never jumped. He was a mechanic for a commercial airline and knew the plane intimately. He thew money out to mislead. He hid in the planes’ infrastructure and then after the FBI stopped searching the plane in Reno he got out and bought land somewhere.
Very strange indeed- why would he be compared to Robin Hood? It’s not like he went and distributed the money to the poor- as far as we know.
You know what they also say about guys with big feet? Big feet, big shoes.
Yes, D.B. Cooper did have big ears. That’s only one of the many reasons we think D.B. Cooper was actually Kenneth Christiansen, as reported in New York Magazine. See our blog for more.
