Expecting Trouble
It’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. Your expectation subtly shifts
your perception of someone and how you treat them.
“Make the expectations lively enough, and action will follow.”

i totally agree with you. we also project our fears, and insecurities on others. like when we don’t trust the ones we love when it is us who have been untrustworthy. Great job!

Often people make jokes that are clearly more than that. They are a sort of passive aggressive way to make some sort of dig or criticism. I sometimes cut through the humour by asking something in a serious tone. “That sounds like a joke, but do you really mean it?” or “Are you trying to tell me something but doing it by joking?”
Not that I’m perfect mind you…I do it too sometimes I’ve been told.

Is it a coincidence we have both written a similar post about almost the same subject on the same day? How funny! I agree with you absolutely, of course. We create our own reality and that often includes the way people us as a reaction to the way we treat them.
