Morning Grumpies
Basically, don’t talk until you bring me coffee.
“I had black coffee and apple pie with a slice of melted yellow
cheese. I think that was a good selection. Betsy had coffee
and a fruit salad dish. She could have had anything she wanted.”
Quotation from Travis Bickle (Robert DeNiro) in Taxi Driver

Dear Seraphine, here you picture a widely used saying in Fryslan, the Dutch province where I live, you see it on signs in many offices where weople are working, it’s in Friesian language: “Foar de kofje net eamelje” which means: “Don’t whine before coffee”. The man in the comic was just whining, and our Friesian signs try to avoid situations such as these.

Great one! My sister is just like that!

Great one!! I had quite a chuckle of that because I am the same way. I don’t think you are simple-minded at all. A simple-minded person couldn’t come close to the talent you have. Have a great day!

could it be that the waiter was complimenting you coz maybe other people usually give complicated orders? What i know, is that you are neither simpleminded nor unsophisticated.

Kalai. Tea refreshes me too, in the evenings.
Rags. Yes, the waiter is very nice.
Dawn. Gives you a cup of coffee before hugging you.
Carolina. Does she crochet too?
Erik. I love that saying. The Dutch have had centuries to learn that.
Eidur. Gives you a cup of coffee before talking to you. Hugs!
Kalyan. I think it would be difficult having the blues around you.

Yes, I had minor surgery a while back. I had to fast all night and day. There were two of us in the recovery room at 3:00 pm when they offered us each a coffee and sandwich. I traded my sandwich and had two coffees. Survival.
A fig for partridges and quails,
ye dainties I know nothing of ye;
But on the highest mount in Wales
Would choose in peace to drink my coffee.
