Support Women’s Ordination
Inalienable human rights means equal opportunity for everyone.
“All the faithful, both clerical and lay,
should be accorded a lawful freedom of inquiry,
freedom of thought and freedom of expression.â€
Quotation from Gaudium et Spes, no 62; Canon Law no 212 § 3
“Let priests and bishops denounce—let the hierarchy
roar! They cannot push the chick back into the shell.”
Quotation from Margaret Sanger, My Fight for Birth Control

I didn’t realise this was still an issue in the USA. It’s such old news in the UK that even the sitcom about a woman priest is in reruns.

Thank God for strong and smart women like you, Sera. Thanks for this comic, great as always. I love how you pick up issues like that.

Yeah… and violence is rampant, in every culture. I recently took out a membership in the Kootenay Womens Centre here in Nelson. Men have to speak out more and walk together with women when it will help move things.
Religion? Don’t get me going!

Yay!
This is probably redundant, but someone’s pointed you to I Blame the Patriarchy (blog.iblamethepatriarchy.com), at some point, right? One of the best Radical Feminist sites on the Net!

That’s pretty remarkable in such a rich country like USA, where everyone should be equal and carry the same opportunities to life. Congratulations on this post!

Karen. I don’t remember seeing it on BBC America. Do you remember the name of the show?
Gary. I have a feeling you go without my help just fine.
Roo. I looked at blog.iblamethepatriarchy.com Thank you! No, I hadn’t seen it. Great site.
Romeika & Kalai. I think unfair discrimination exists all over the world, not just in the US.
Bettina, Rags, Carolina, & Jenn. Thank you! Love your comments.

The show I was thinking of is called The Vicar of Dibley, and stars Dawn French. It’s typical britcom fare, so the funniest thing about it would be if it turns out that it’s considered too controversial for the USA.

Yes, that’s true, but it’s just remarkable how there’s quite some poverty in US in general. A rich country.
