Dark Confession: The Devil’s Bargain
Nobody wants to give up what they love, even if they
are forced into a “devil’s bargain” with themselves.
“Earth gets its price for what Earth gives us;
The beggar is taxed for a corner to die in,
The priest hath his fee who comes and shrives us,
We bargain for the graves we lie in”
Quoted from James Russell Lowell, The Vision of Sir Launfal

Of course it’s ourselves we bargain with. As one of my friend’s said, “Sometimes you’re boss is a real asshole!” (I’m self-employed.)

Eidur. The devil seems unreal, because I’m my worst enemy.
Gary. I like clever friends with a sense of humor. It *was* said humorously, wasn’t it?

everyday I cheat myself but everyday I am living life. I’ll continue to bargain with my inner demons to know I am alive and making conscious choices.
