They couldn’t work it out. They just split up. The one with the new lover locked my friend out of their house.

Polyamory problems?
It seems that SL population is more likely to accept polyamorous way of living than the same persons would in RL. But, I always wandered if experimenting in SL leads to changing our oppinions in RL.

May I be maudlin? I eventually always find an outlet in writing.
************
The road winds forward and sideways and upwards
Through virtual worlds of reality
Exquisite moments, and people and places
And those of startling banality
Oh, we’ll play at life and we’ll play at love
But the friendships and trusting are real
The avs may be beautiful, fantastical, chimerical
But there are people behind them who feel
Its not just a game that we play one on none
Even though we may be alone in the room
The flickering light in the dead of the night
Illuminates relationship’s bloom.
Oh, we’ll play at life and we’ll play at love
But the friendships and trusting are real
The avs may be beautiful, fantastical, chimerical
But there are people behind them who feel
So parse you Lee, a wise sage, a gal named Rosemary
In whatever world you spend all of your time
Remember those who (and are especially no longer)
Were once good friends of thine
Oh, we’ll play at life and we’ll play at love
But the friendships and trusting are real
The avs may be beautiful, fantastical, chimerical
But there are people behind them who feel

See.. That is why I am very choosy at who I am with, because I don’t want to hurt anyone. I am truely poly, even in RL.. even though I’ve not had the chance to even exibit monoamory, heh. I’m fairly certain most people just say they are ‘poly’ just because they want to screw many people. That’s not, nor should it ever, be the reason. The whole point of being polyamorous is Love, not sex. Sex comes with the Love.. or it doesn’t. I have quite a few that I love and Love, that I’ve never slept with, or very rarely do, simply because it’s not needed.. it’s not the focal point.
Anyway.. I am very sorry for your friend. That is no way to be treated, especially in that sort of relationship. My condolances.. if I could do anything, I would. I wish I could. ._.

I’m sorry they couldn’t work it out, sometimes it’s best that way.

Tell your friend I am sorry she is hurting, but time will heal all wounds.
Your friend is just a Great Catch… Her former won’t realize it now, but will later.

Hi Dandellion. I think you’re right, there is a large level of social experimentation occuring in virtual worlds. The perception, however, that it’s a “safe” way to explore things isn’t exactly true. People get hurt because real feelings get involved.
Lynn’s beautiful poem says this better than I could.
Thanks Kat, Romeika, Carolina, Jen and Callie for your concern. You are right, Callie, my friend IS a great catch.
Romeika, I’ll post my Tagged answers on Saturday. /hugs!

“The perception, however, that it’s a “safe†way to explore things isn’t exactly true. ”
It is not true at all. It MIGHT be a bit safer if one place things that way, but it is not to be taken safe for granted.
