Personally, I wouldn’t want a tattoo. Personally, I find them less attractive then clear skin. That said: I have seen some insanely beautiful tattoos before.

I love my tattoos.
I wouldn’t give them up for the world.
Do tattoos make me feel sexier or more attractive? Sometimes. Othertimes I forget they weren’t part of my body when I was born. Oops.
I’m a social worker, and it’s difficult sometimes to get people to trust you. It’s even more so if you can’t hide your tattoos… depending on with whom you’re working.

Hi Kat. I’ve seen some beautiful tattoos too. I’ve also seen some bad ones that suited their wearers perfectly.
Thank you Amy! Great comment, especially about trust being an issue. It’s true.

The thing is, I think, is this:
Does the tattoo accentuate or distract from you?
If it accentuates, then it that means it does make you sexier, meaning more attention and ultimately greater self-esteem.
If it distracts, that means that you were either too ambitious or full of yourself and you went overboard in some way. The distraction of the tattoo WILL cause you to be noticed, but in a more neutral or negative fashion in most cases. This may or may not lead to decreased self-esteem.
(If you replace every appearance of the word ‘tattoo’ with anything else, such as make-up, perfume, earrings, etc. You will find that this will work just the same.)
Self-esteem is one of the major deciding factors of life, affecting every aspect of your daily actions, whether you like it or not.
That is all the wisdom I have for you for now. Good day.

Personally, I’ve had less acceptance of my eyebrow piercing than the tattoos on my arms. I had to remove my eyebrow piercing because it refused to heal and I noticed an instant change in people’s reactions around me. It could be because it’s rare to see a librarian with that sort of thing!
