Welcome to Encore Seraphine

April 28th, 2007

A Web Comic that explores relationships and life’s great *mysteries from the unique perspective of a goth fashion model. It’s a journal-like mixture of my Real Life and Second Life experiences. If you can’t tell which is which, neither can I, at least not always.

*poetry included

  3. Francisca Says:

Yes I can compare. But I understand what you say. I like Vogue, I really like it and I read it all, but sometimes I need more substance.

  4. Helen Says:

Fabulous. So much work! A little away from my field of experience, but fabulous work.

  5. Seraphine Khorana Says:

    Hi Helen! Thank you! /hugs!

I like Vogue too Francisca. There’s always the New Yorker if you need substance. But Vogue is Vogue and has ever been Vogue.

  6. Bron Says:

Thanks for visiting my blog. I think yours is great do you do the artwork on the computer?

  7. {H} creatives Says:

Thanks for your continued comment on my p-blog. Hope your 4th of July was great! Cheers…

  8. Seraphine Khorana Says:

Bron: The graphics are mostly screenshots from a digital world called Second Life. I manipulate and “massage” them in Photoshop CS2. Other graphics are also used– for example, the first four panels in an upcoming (July 7, 2007) comic are taken from real-life photographs I’ve made with a Canon digital camera. The story line is primarily a journal of my experiences- a comic blog, if you will- although a measure of artistic license is also used.

{H}: Thank you! I love yur photographs. /hugs

  9. Bron Says:

Did you create all the comic above? Cool! What a talent. =)

  12. Diana Coronado Says:

    Second life ??
Do you like the game ??

  13. Seraphine Khorana Says:

Diana, calling Second Life a game doesn’t quite describe it. I suppose everyone who plays it has a different opinion about that. It’s very social and it provides a platform for a lot of very creative people. It’s a virtual world created almost entirely by its “citizens.”

Pretty, Ginseng and Bron, Thank you!

At first I thought she (you) was (were) falling down and surrendered to gravity but her skirt was so neat and not blown up by the passing air, so she (you) must be hoovering like astronauts do in their space shuttle. She (you) made me think about things that can be fought against and things that cannot, such as gravity, rain, money, love,

  29. ImageSmith Says:

    Hi

Upset today ‘cos my favourite pub in Second Life - the Witch’s Brew - has closed. I decided I had to look elsewhere for entertainment, and I found your lovely comics. Thank you for the smiles! And the bits I recognised from my own Second Life. I also mix SL images with RL pictures - perhaps you’d like to have a look (although they are not in your league).

  30. Seraphine Khorana Says:

Hi ImageSmith. Yes, sadly, the Witch’s Brew is closed. But Trinity says she will rebuild it soon at a new location. Heh, I hope without those big posts in the way, which annoy everyone.

  31. Bron Says:

thanks for the comment on my blogg and i know what you mean by living in california and not really being able to wear tights. i lived in california for a while and i pretty much just wore shirts and shorts, but living in new york is completely different because now i have to buy coats, and wear cute flats and tights!

  34. shaz Says:

i love reading your blog! Keep it up, you put more thought into life than most of us ever do

  35. Erik Tjallinks Says:

Have a good Dane, too! Thanks for this comic again which makes me think. What is neopaganism? Are there still pagans today? What is a pagan anyway?I think the word “pagan” has only meaning for people who strongly believe they possess the one and only Truth and want others to have it, too. The Canterbury Tales are fantastic and ahead of their time! I have a Dutch translation, edited for the Dutch pagans who love it.

  36. {H} creatives Says:

  38. James C Says:

This is interesting. I’ve only looked at a few posts, but I’ve never seen anything like this before, which naturally piques the curiosity. I’ll check out more when I get home from work.

Of the ones I’ve seen though, there’s something attractive about the writing/images, or their combination… I’ll have to think about it further. Good job though : )

  39. Spot the Pot Says:

a smile is spread across my face as i think of a couple of metaphors this could be representing. Great story strip!

Love your work… compelling, sexy, thought-provoking, elegantly simple and eternally memorable.

  46. inès Says:

I’m absoltly agree with Ace Plughead, he just says what I think !

  47. Erik Tjallinks Says:

Great graphics you used again! Your thoughts are brainpains, each time I think: what does it mean, what does she mean and how shall I respond? This time Sera has the feeling of guilt, but guilt of what? Of being a fly caught with honey instead of vinegar? Sera, be yourself, you’re a great artist and it’s you who catches so many people not with something sweet or acid but with your own imagination, thank you, Lord for all this! (Having written this I doubt whether I gave the right answer or an answer you already knew - see, I’m a fly and she caught me with the honey of her drawings :)

  48. ramakrishna Says:

Wonderful header with glamorous female character. Yes blogging about comics is going to be great inspiration for creative mind. Thanks a lot for leaving comments on my blog. :)

  49. Erik Tjallinks Says:

Reminds me of Dido and Aeneas. Says Aeneas to Dido: I have to leave for my war duties are waiting for me. Says Queen Dido: Oh please, don’t leave, I want you, I need you! Says Aeneas: OK, then I’ll stay with you. Says Dido: Oh no, go and leave, because your first thought was leaving me, I can’t bear that! Oh no, I’ll stay says Aeneas, Oh, do leave, says Dido. (They actually sing this in the opera of their name by Henry Purcell). In the end Dido kills herself and sings the famous aria “Remember me, but forget my fate!” I like the two girls’ attitude better! How do you imagine all these stories together, Seraphine!
